It's Friday, it's the End of FREAKANGELS Book Two. So, those of you that like to save up a chunk to read at a time, today's your day...!
Morning, Whitechapel. I think. It's still quite dark here, but the clock says it's morning. (By the way, much of the US and North America: this weekend is DST Europe, you're fine until the 29th, this year). How're we all doing today?
Awesome. Beautiful. I really think these last 2 eps have seen FA reach new heights. I keep getting that spine-tingly thing going on when I read them. What's that? it's called emotion? I'm not sure I like it.
page 5 panel 2 looks like we are in store for more.
paul's settings and backgrounds are just becoming really inspiring and really bringing whitechapel alive. thanks paul. warren, your ability to translate emotion and the 'everyday toil' into such a breath taking tour of the extraordinary is just marvelous. ariana....hang in there, your 'garage' is a warm and healing place. put the wrench down and indulge in a nap.
@Mister Hex They didn't skip a week last time... *hopeful*
I want to see what Alice did with the ropes. Also, who's on body-cleanup? I vote for KK. Connor is still my favourite. I wasn't sure about Jack til now. Now I'm pretty sure I don't like him. God, he's bitchy.
I'm SO excited for the future! (well, the more immediate future, I mean. Though I DO hope I survive the end of the world and rock out with the FAs;).
I'm okay. Truthfully, my ass is on fire. Either I had a visit from Warren's arse eels last night, or I shouldn't have ordered the hottest hot sauce on the menu to douse my chicken wings into. Totally worth it either way.
Hopefully it'll be "Next Morning" for Alice's sake. If it's "Six Months Later" we'll be opening with the 'angels discovering Alice's starved corpse atop the Watchtower. And they'll call Conner a "cockmonkey" for constantly forgetting to feed her.
I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
Wow, this was a great episode - the art was especially beautiful. I think the next episode will definitely be a 'jump' moment, in that time will have leapt forward.
I mean, if it resumes the next day - that might be a little boring.
Loving the final line 'I still didn't get any fucking dinner'. So witty. I've read a lot of Milton, Castiglione, Aristotle, Shakespeare, Ben Jonson, Thomas More, Christopher Marlowe and Thomas Kyd... not to mention Italio Calvino, Dickens, Machiavelli, Wilde - and then all the classics like Homer, Ovid, Dante Alighieri, and modern adaptations such as Ted Hughes (and others) - but STONE THE CROWS, that was a memorable line!
Fucking BRILLIANT!! How does Warren come up with shit like that!? People will be quoting that in 400 years time. For sure.
Morning made good by Freakangels and a breather to get some perspective. I like that the perspective isn't completely rosy and shiny and bright, but is interesting and possible.
Brilliant. Will enjoy Vol. 2 with Vol. 1 when it comes out. seriously considering taking my copies apart and finding spiral bindings for them to lay flat and perhaps tilted so the drool runs off the page instead of pooling in inappropriate ways. maybe i oughta laminate them? hm.
Here there is coffee to go with the drunken stupids (at the Library?!?), and my dreams are getting too connected for comfort.
Nice. i really enjoyed this one... I needed a pleasant break from my husband screaming at Dead Rising...
I've decided to stop taking my Cymbalta or Celexa..or whatever thing they had me on for the last six months. I got really sick with the flu that's running rampant all over the place and couldn't take it for three days anyway because i really couldn't keep anything down... I was tired of the side effects I got, but now, since I'm three or four days without it now, I'm getting weird and very icky withdraw symptoms...mostly a strange kind of electric vertigo every time i move. So I've decided that i'm also going to stop drinking coffee, and switch to tea. coffee was hurting my stomach too badly...better for me anyway... So with all these changes that have been going on for the last few days, i've actually felt a lot better, except for the vertigo, which will probably get worse before it gets better. I'm so woozy right now i'm surprised I'm actually able to type this...I feel all trapped up in my dizzy head. Stupid pharmaceuticals...wow..right on the first spelling...ha!
I echo the comment about wanting the hardcover of volume 2 soon. The quality on the first was extraordinary.
I also hope that we actually get to see the construction, large and small, of the various building projects starting up in volume 3. The solar, seed, water construction? I think it would be neat to see that stuff in detail. A first for comics?
