My main love of all things steam comes from the fantastic costumes people make for themselves, and I am a member of a couple of other steam communities. The only thing that I find is missing is people who want to live roleplay in a steam setting. I know, I'm a total geek. But I love stuff like that. Anyone else interested in playing their very own steampunk personality?

Not gonna plug other stuff too much, but a pretty good steam setting can be found in the novel, "The Court of the Air". Bloody good fun.

 Thanks for the fading suns link, it's pretty close to what I'm after. I do like the idea of doing somehing a little freeform, but I know what some gamers can be like without a real rule set. Maybe I could just change the Fading Suns game to suit my needs a bit. Hmmmm?

 I'd be pretty happy with a steam/steampunk style setting - I've got a boatload of Space: 1889 books... when the game was first announced, I horded the advertising materials and handouts, because I just thought it was all *so* cool. I've even got a bunch of the Transactions of The Royal Martial Geographical Society, a name that makes me smile just saying or typing it.

 Space: 1889, the game that wouldn't die. That was a joke that one of its owners gave it at a gaming industry con back in the 90s. Last I heard, someone still had a movie option on the property. After GDW died, I think Frank Chadwick took back the property but I think the problem I heard with licensing it was that he wanted to retain the old rule set.

 @Tulpa
I found the website of the people that make Full Light, Full Steam and they say they have it available on Lulu.com. When I search on Lulu for it though I cant find it anywhere. Do you have a link where you ordered it from?

EDIT: Also an interesting steampunk style game that I found on Lulu is Broken Gears. the authors call it Animistic Steampunk, and it does have some good setting stuff, though I dont know if I would use the system they have in it. last I saw it was free as a PDF and only 6 or 7 dollars plus shipping for a softcover.

 I am kinda lucky that way. My university has a very large gamer population (over fifty turn up to the weekly meetings and there is almost the same again in casuals) and there is never a shortage of new games to try out. My big problem is the only live gaming is world of darkness, and most of the people who play it are more into the whiney goth side of the game than trying to get into the fun political stuff and dark creepy horror.

If I could find a good enough system and setting I would love to try running a steampunk live game.

 Just got done buying a bunch of RPG stuff with the christmas money I got. One of the games I picked up was Pinnacle's setting for their Savage Worlds system called Rippers. Set in victorian times, you play a monster hunter (or Ripper as they call them) tracking down creatures of the night and killing them, but the interesting part is what they call Rippertech. Rippertech is basically taking parts of monsters and implanting them into your own body to gain some of their powers. Jack the Ripper in it is actually someone who put so much Rippertech in himself that his body started breaking down and he was killing people to get fresh organs to keep himself going.
