Now that volume 2 is wrapped, when will it be released in print form? Love the comic but find it annoying to read comics on a computer screen so I buy the volumes =)
Yes, volume 2 will be live start of May. The softcover edition will be kept in print forever, but the Hardcover is limited to 2000 copies and the Signed Hardcover is limited to 1000. Those are NOT going to be reprinted, when they are gone, they are gone.
I believe the signed hardcover for volume #1 is still in print and offered through a comic book retailer's distributor, Diamond Comic Distributors. My store didn't originally order it for me, but got them to do so, so I was able to get one. I have not had time to read it, but it's Warren Ellis, so I know I will enjoy it. Volume #2 was just solicitated in the March Previews for May shipping as someone else posted.
But, perhaps this is the wrong thread, but can someone tell me what the hell happened to "Fell" and "Desolation Jones"?
I just got my copy of Volume 2 today. Just paging through it, it looks a little dark (in terms of physical coloring, I mean). I think the web version had a little better contrast, especially during the night scenes. Still looks and and reads really good, though.
@pynchbeck - well, not a pre-order anymore, they should have copies live this week. Not sure why it isn't showing, but we'll e-mail our distributor and see if they can get it sorted out with them.
I bought two copies, the regular hardcover to read and have for my FreakAngels collection; then the Dual signed Hardcover for fun. I always wanted one of the dual signed hardcovers, so when I got the chance I purchased one. However, I am collecting this series in the regular hardcovers because the price is right and the covers have been fantastic.
God, don't ;) I ordered my freakangels vol 1 from them (good price, in stock, etc etc), only to come back 16 days later and see it on 'processing' - on back order from the supplier etc. As in, not going to arrive by Saturday 23rd (for the Expo signing) despite me ordering it on the 2nd. What's the *most* amusing thing? My last order with them at Christmas time (which was my FIRST order from them) did the exact same thing - half the ordered comics arrived fine, but the other half just vanished off the radar and didn't arrive for Christmas, or indeed by the end of January. I cancelled. Looks like I'll have to cancel again. Prices decent, service terrible.
I think most current computers have backlighting. I found the coloring dark, but great. I could tell what was going on, and to be honest the dim coloring of the night panels made the read feel more realistic. As if this was actually happening at night because at night with no lights is pretty fucking dark people. Try walking home in the dark with no lights of any kind, save the moon and the stars.
