Scientists have safely tested out contact lenses with circuitry in rabbits.
The prototype device contains an electric circuit as well as red light-emitting diodes for a display, though it does not yet light up. The lenses were tested on rabbits for up to 20 minutes and the animals showed no adverse effects.

The tested lenses don't really do much, but it sounds like contacts with a relatively basic HUD might only be a few years away. I've been waiting for something like this for years.

I thought of this years ago, whether they would be able to put computer technology into contact lenses... that is super cool. Apart from all kind of cool cyber-punk-esque possibilities, it also opens up countless possibilities for slacking off at work/in class.

It would be so nice to have HUD available, face recognition, etc. I could get so much more done!

Weren't there some glasses like this on the market a few years back?
Either way, It's an awesome concept. I'd really like a pair.

Huh. I remember when it took at least a year for Warren's things to come true. Now it seems its down to 3 months.
