8tracks is one of the (late lamented) Muxtape clones. Seems most like Muxtape.

Anyone playing with it yet? Link your 8tracks mixtapes here for us.

I'm going heavy on the guitar noise over pop songs route this time:

I think I've posted on this board all of once, but I couldn't pass this up.

    Track listing:
    Self- Flip-Top Box
    Relatively mellow experimental pop.

    The Ergs!- Blockhead (Devo cover)
It was really hard for me to choose an Ergs song. Easily my favorite band, I've even got a tattoo on my shoulder. I decided to just go with the one I've been listening to most lately, but everything they do is wonderful. Silly, romantic pop-punk that's not ashamed of its more offbeat influences.

    Mischief Brew- Ten Thousand Fleas
Crusty folk punk. A little harder-edged than most of his other stuff, but incredibly catchy. Guest appearance by Stza from crust punk heroes Leftöver Crack.

    Bondage Fairies- Gay Wedding
Oh, god, atrocious band name. But a fantastic song. Recent, but it sounds like it came straight out of the nineties alternative scene. I'm pretty sure my girlfriend and I agreed that this is 'our song'.

    Themselves- Good People Check
Artsy-fartsy alternative hip-hop. A mesmerizing beat, but I'm thinking I should have chosen the rare live 13&God track 'Sure As Dept. Dust Collectors'. Get in touch with me if you like the vocalist, and I'll send you that song.

The Show Is The Rainbow- Roar Means Run
The least up his own ass this guy gets on his new record. A one-man (usually) band with a fantastic live show, and one of the friendliest guys I've ever met.

    Armalite- Other Entertainers
A pop-punk supergroup of sorts. Atom Goren from Atom and his Package, with members of Lifetime, Affirmative Action Jackson, and Kill The Man Who Questions. An incredibly infectious song, if you're into the kind of thing they do.

Tub Ring- The Subsequent Rating Given To The Life And Times Of Jack Valenti
Hell, maybe these guys are my favorite band. My favorite group to see live, and an incredibly talented group of musicians. Really cool guys, even considering the fact that the bass player tried to digitally penetrate me on their last run through.

    minimal / noise

This is eight tracks, with some things I've been listening to lately, some old favourites, and one of my own chucked in for people to giggle at in its august company.

Philip Jeck, Fennesz, Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto, Autechre, Ryoji Ikeda, Brian Eno, James Holden, Very Sharp Knives.

This will be up your street if you like sparse digital noise mixed with acoustic instruments, droney processed soundscapes and some really abrasive distortion for good measure.

There's some typos in the artist & titles, I thought it'd let me edit them after uploading. Oh well.

Holy shit, another Tub Ring fan. And Self? You get a digital hug, sir.

To keep slightly on topic, I will have to visit this site now. I will return, hopefully w/ a mix.

    @allana & @Jeff Zero
I saw Subtle a while back and talked to Adam for a bit afterwards. He's pretty intense and obviously brilliant, but I'd be amazed if there also isn't a little madness in his future present.
