    A bit less thought in this one, as far as sequencing goes, but it's good times all around.

    Quite possibly the greatest song I've ever heard ever.

    Grand Buffet- Things That Go Hump In The Night (Ultimate Remix)
    GB are also featured in my fantastic hip-hop mix. Remix and additional vocals by Ultimate Donny from Gil Mantera's Party Dream.

    Pinhead Gunpowder- At Your Funeral
    Mike Kirsch from a whole bunch of East Bay punk bands, Aaron Cometbus from Crimpshine (and noted zinester), and a few dudes either in or involved with Green Day (Billie Joe Armstrong, Jason White, Bill Schneider). Good tune.

    Self- It All Comes Out In The Wash
    One of Matt Mahaffey's biggest influences is Beck. This song completely out-Becks Beck.

    Gogol Bordello- 60 Revolutions
    Rock and fucking roll.

    Awesome Snakes- I Want A Snake
    Annie and Danny from The Soviettes (featured on my last mix). The album is fourteen more tracks about snakes, and how awesome they are.

    Beastie Boys- Remote Control
    My very first favorite Beastie Boys song. It's probably be Shadrach, these days.

    Atom & His Package- (Lord It's Hard To Be Happy When You're Not) Using The Metric System (live version)
    Because I don't have the studio version. So you guys get some extra banter at the end.

    @JeffZero - I just bought an Atom and His Package cd on Amazon because you reminded me of him. Saw his second or third to last show back in the day...miss those local shows.

    If you like Atom, you should check out Armalite. Atom plays guitar and does vocals. I actually put my favorite song by them on my first 8tracks mix.

    @JeffZero - Was on Armalite's site last night listening to the two songs they have up. They are good, but more of a [I originally said 'real', but I think I probably meant something closer to 'straightforward'] punk act than Atom and his antics. The reason I loved Atom so much was his lyrics. I've always liked him because he was a really original voice in that scene (especially important in a time when most bands were just clones of what had come before). Armalite, while a fun listen just doesn't have that same appeal to me.

    [Edited to add] Also...I may just be a grumpier, older, lamer version of the kid who liked to go to punk shows and get fucking crazy, gonna give Armalite some more play.

    When i first hit on 8tracks i tried creating soundtracks for stories in my head- with mixed results.

    Revenge on the Back of a Horse, The Front of My Bullets.
    A Gunslinger wages war on hell for taking his family. After saving them, he falls to his wounds-wandering Purgatory before finding peace.

    Each track, to me, represents a different chapter within the story: Opening up with Ride Like Hell, By Big Sugar representing the Gunslinger going about his normal routine, probably as a messenger in a delivery service. First it Giveth, by QOTSA is him getting word that his family has been horribly mutilated and killed and he rides to see the grizzly scene. Blood Red Head on Fire is when it starts to sink into madness, with a gate to hell opening in the middle of some badlands, right out of the ground and everything around it withering and dying as the horrors spill out. Army of Me is the centering, or the "calm before the storm." The Gunslinger is eerily calm as he begins his deathdealing: Emotionless, stoic and driven. Dust to Dust- things start to speed up. He gets closer to the gate and begins piling up bodies left and right. No longer quiet and stoic, he is simply mad with rage a grief and oblivious to pain and injury. He screams incoherently and flashes back to the horrifying corpses of his family. Hole in the Earth remix- On the cusp of the gate he falls, finally, both literally and figuratively. He falls through the gate as he bleeds out, limbs fluttering as he plummets towards hell.Karmaway-Hell bleeds away into a white barren desert, bright and sterile. He falls slowly and comes to rest on the ground with blood spattering around him. Where the blood lands memories spring up like plants. Aftermath, by Hurt- he finally touches the ground and awakens:all at once all the plants turn to stone, crumble and blow away like dust. He stands and looks into the distance and begins walking into the sunset.

    Sorry for the story rant, but i wanted to get the images and thoughts that the music kind of inspired out there with the playlist. Apologies all around if anyone finds it annoying.
