Alright, I finally decided to throw some stuff together. So here's some things you may or may not enjoy.
Sinkin' Down - A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll, a lot of small-town failure. Nighthawks - Nighttime music. Doom. - Dooooooooommmmm metal.
I didn't put it together that I might've known you from WC, so I left a thank you note on that mix feed, but what the hell, thanks here as well. I've been feeling that "brokedown, no-hope, loser hero" vibe quite a bit lately, so that mix came pretty naturally. Cheers!
I really meant to do a sequel to my "Songs That Make Me Cry" playlist. But I got mixed up somehow, so I ended up having to rebuild the first one. Consider it vols. 1 and 2 collected. So here's Songs That Make Me Cry. Again. (edit: It didn't even save the last time. Here is More Songs That Make Me Cry.)
With One Fist in The Air - Punk from the last decade or so, leaning heavily toward the Gainesville/No Idea records sort of sound.
Deadland - Old-school goth spookiness. Many of the old favorites, with a few newer things and such in there. Remember when electronics weren't really needed to be spooky?
another mix created today. As the days are getting a LOT longer now (it´s 11.30pm and the sun is only now setting...) I´ll need something for those night walks...
So a few of my 8tracks mixes have suddenly been locked (after weeks of being public) because there are "more than two tracks by the same artist". When I go back and check the playlist, that's simply not true. I mean, I can't delete what isn't there, and now it won't let me make them public again. Anyone else ever have that problem?
one of my old mixes got taken off as apparently one track didn´t have the album name. But it won´t let me change it. Oh well. It was was only cheesy 80´s tunes anyway....
Weird. I sent a note to 8tracks support, but I haven't heard anything back yet.
Edited to add: I just got an email from their support saying that they've tightened their screening filters recently because people have been renaming tracks with false or misspelled info to get around the licensing rules (which seems like a shit thing to do to such a great free service). The new filters have been returning some false positives on those kinds of violations, though, which is what mine were. So they unlocked my mixes and sent an email and were, all in all, totally cool about it.
Anyway, if it happens to anyone else, just let support know and they'll check it out.
This is NOT mine, but I think it is interesting enough to deserve being posted here. Mainly Tuvan throat singing, a style of music I didn't even know yesterday and I'm getting quite interested in after this.
