Remember this thread from way back in the glory days of muxtape? Well, now I want to start another one and thanks to discovering the existence of 8tracks, well I think we can do it.
So it's the end of the world and you are one of the few survivors wandering around. During the long tedious hours of looking for food, water, gasoline, weapons, ammunition, and fighting off the occasional mutant biker gang you need to listen to some music that fits the situation you are in and perhaps even make things seem less horrible. I dunno. You have a music player that runs on solar power. What the hell.
I've created an 8tracks account in the hopes that the wonderful people in Whitechapel might share some music that they would like to listen to when the world is destroyed. Share one song, maybe two or more. Whatever. When one mix is filled, move on to the next one and so on. Who knows? Maybe we'll have a nice little library of music dedicated to the post-apocalyptic future.
ok i´ve added my first salvo to the apocalypse hell playlist
3. Adem - Statued 4. Daddy´s in the doldrums - Secret Machines 5. That dress looks good on you - Sufjan Stevens
I do have some TRULY apocalytic music but i will wait for the playlist that denotes total depair (perhaps after your family has been torn apart by some zombie rats)....
Just added the Godspeed You! Black Emporor classic "The Dead Flag Blues". When I get my four minute warning I'm going to listen to the start of that track.
Ginja, you can add your track to end of mix two, or use it later. I'm not sure what you wanted to do. However, I figured 20 minutes of GYBE was ok for one particular mix.
Robin, can you put a note about hitting "save" on your intro when you're next editing it? Save people dropping songs.
Barring any problem with songs not being saved into mix number three, I've added Roky Erikson - Burn the Flames and The Carrie Nations - Once I Had Love, which might not be immediate choices, but in my head the montage of apocalyptic sequences is greatly aided by both songs.
