IGNITION CITY was vintage Ellis. I shall return to the store promptly to buy extra copies and hand them out to friends.

I must say, I really like Gianluca Pagliarani.

Is it just me, or did Chris Dreier's inks seem a little sloppy? Compared to Aetheric Mechanics, it seemed rushed.

Just picked up my copy an hour ago - just finished reading it and man did I enjoy it. My local shop had only a few copies, they tend to only get a few issues of each of your books but they do sell out. I didnt ask them how many they ordered, I will as in future.

I personally loved the geograghy of the city, its shape its forelorness (if that is even a word its definately the feeling that oozes through the lush visuals and words) but I hate cliff hangers!

I will have to be patient.

Lovely first issue, so congrats on that.

The first issue teases just enough that I'm dying to know more about that world. Love the design of 'the Fat Pigeon' and especially love the big honking ray gun.

My only probably is of course a good one for the writer...it ended to quickly.

While doing research about Gary Erskine, I found out THIS! Funny how Ignition City almost ended up as a computer generated comic. Personaly, I don't like it.

My local comic shop ordered seven, on top of the pre-ordered copies for regulars (five of us pre-ordered), and when my wife picked up our books at 5 PM today they only had two copies left on the shelf. So five shelf sales on top of the pre-orders.

Haven't had a chance to read the issue yet, plan to later tonight or tomorrow.

    First up:

    @VertigoJones
I was a little disappointed that I couldn't get a wraparound, cos it looks lovely, but my shop said they didn't order enough to be allowed variant covers, when I asked how many they ordered, they said four, I was quite surprised, but they apparently only get four or so of any indy stuff unless customer pre orders make them get more in. Still, I will be excitedly picking my copy up tomorrow.

Your shop is a bloody liar. Only the incentive design sketch was limited; the regular, painted and wrap could be ordered in whatever combination they wanted. If you have your heart set on that cover, get it pre-ordered from them. They can do an advance reorder right now and get extras of that particular cover. I never understand why a shop doesn't want someone's business or keep their customers happy. If you want the diamond codes and can't find them, leave me a message here and I will get them for you. Off my soapbox now.

    @warrenellis:

IGNITION CITY is a slick piece of work, totally fucking brilliant.
Sorry, used the majority of the brain on the previous paragraph.
    Small words now.

Just picked up my copy from my subscription bin (my store puts all of your titles in there automatically). I've only scanned it, not having time to read it yet though it looks like it'll live up to your usual standards.

I was talking to the store owner, Jim, about your comments that Ignition City was under ordered and he told me that he bought the same amount of copies for Ignition City as he did for X-Men Legacy. He has one copy of Ignition City left and three of X-Men. You've got a lot of fans in this small town apparently.

Cards & Comics in SF - bloke behind the counter didn't have a clue, and didn't exactly offer to look and see if it had come in, been ordered, ask anyone else...

Which is a little odd as the have/had Black Summer, No Hero, Wolfskin etc. on their creepy pervert racks...

Tiddle pom. I'll swing by Isotope sometime soon. They'll have it.

Forgive me, Internet Jesus. Once I rob an old lady and clean off the blood, I'll purchase it with all due haste.

    1) I'll be sending you a case of prunes and oatmeal, as your regularity has invaded your writing.
    2) My LCS (Samurai Comics in Phx) ordered extras apparently
    3) I'm definitely into the story. I'm always curious with your twists on technology - a propeller plane/rocket with vtol style functionality is a nice twist.
    4) You've moved from Godzilla Bukkake to Godzilla Poocaca, it's good to see you keeping us honest/on our toes :)
    5) I bought 2 copies - one for a friend

    My wishes:
    - Is Yuri THE Yuri? Gagarin? That'd be cool. Not enough people know of him, fictionalized or not.
    - I'd like to see Mary's mother write her back, and
    - Was Vanderkirk's ray gun originally Mary's father's ray gun?

    Thanks for the good read!

@heresybob: The Samurai you go to--is that on 107th and Indian School?

I got my hands on a copy--the vintage cover. Don't know how much they ordered, but there wer extras. Loved the bloody hell out of it, espicially the regulars of the city--Yuri was hilarious.

All in all--great issue, despite the crushing cliffhanger. Will definately continue to buy at this point.

Got it today. So, weekly unlimited series, then?

    Please?

Seriously though, I loved it and can't wait for more. There's a lot of groundwork laid here and I can't wait to see what gets built upon it. If I remember right, this is a series of series rather than just a set number of issues and complete?

Shit. My place sold out (I think they under order a lot). Going to try my other place tomorrow night, they order MOAR.

@all - regarding length of Ig City. It is planned as a series of minis, much like Anna Mercury. Arcs of 5 issues at a time. There will be much more after this first one, fear not. Glad everyone is enjoying it so much, thank you all for your support!

I enjoyed it. Wasn't too hot on the art but maybe it'll grow on me. Warren's always great at immediately orienting us into new worlds. Love that!
