Sounds brilliant, plus it ticks most of my boxes for "dream comics themed event". I think i'm going to come down, then. I've never been to anything like this. I could make it to London for a weekend.
dude return easy jet flights to london luton from the 'deen are like £50 then its only about a tenner on the train.... its the most possible thing ever
I'm utterly thrilled and overjoyed, as you know ^__^
In fact, this will be the first time that messrs Ellis and Duffield will be sighted in the same room - so it will be a special day for Freakangels.
To those of you considering coming along...do iiiittttt, joinnnn usssssss! Not only do you get to see Mr Ellis himself (and really, what more do you need?), but you get to experience one of the most surreal events in the UK. Where else will you find Robot Wars, DDR and Tony Curtis in one room? And the cosplay has to be seen to be believed.
I mean, last year we were graced with Christopher Lee singing 'My Way'....no, seriously!
@warrenellis Good god, no - I didn't expect you to mingle. I meant a DU for the rest of us scum (plus that's my 31st birthday and I shall be requiring some booze).
It should be, granted I have only been to it once and a replace ment bus service was in use due to part of the tube being closed. My first convention, sort of put me off a bit due to the crush of people. Upside I got to see Edward James Olmos.
@Darkest, I was there last year, it didn't seem overly crush worthy. The best part was the Islamic exhibition running at the same time, so you got this mix of people dressed up as anime characters and very devout muslims all mingling at the same foodstalls :p
@DTh - See, i'm going to this, it'll be my first comic event, which i'm fine with.
It's the crushing intimidation of even asking to join a drinkup with veterans. And the fact that, as aforementioned, i'll be the youngest on there. 18 is a shit age to be, especially when you look about 16.
