Hey Warren - the guys over at Penny Arcade are praising this, especially #8. Which means every geek in the world has probably watched it now.

Also, Seth Rogen wants to play tummy sticks with you.

Hey - I never really cared one way or another about GI Joe. All I used them for was to force genital-less rape on my sister's Barbies and then sacrifice her to the sun gods of New Mexico.

    1) It's good to see soldiers kill. A GI Joe that doesn't kill is just another way of removing his cock.

    2) The last words on ep 10 sealed the deal for me. About fucking time.

    Thanks for another fun story.

hmmmm, Ep 9 seems to suffer a bit from the Principle of Evil Marksmanship. They can't hit either main character despite being highly trained, outnumbering, surrounding and outgunning them..and the main characters are standing in a pile of fuel tanks. Conversely, Scarlett can pick em off while duel weilding handguns while being flung through the air upside down by an explosion of aforementioned fuel tanks.

But then, she's had ninja training, hasn't she.

I wonder if Scarlett's related to Anna Mercury.

Just caught EP 9 +10. In addition to praising Warren, I think respect should also be given to the animators, who have created the slick cartoon action sequences. I also love that little GI JOE title with the bullet SFX..Oh yeah another thing the sound production is awesome on this, just like Black Lagoon.

I was so tickled that mr. Ellis used the HAARP project...that's been one of my pet "crazy places that may doom us all" interests for years...

I am also a huge fan of the animators....such a nice style.

the website has a page listing all of the film makers (producers, animators, marketing, etc) but nowhere is warren credited. wtf?

I agree that the production value all around on this has been surprisingly high. I was never a GI Joe fan, but this is just plain entertaining. Two things that stood out to me: I enjoy the fact that Joe vs. Cobra weapons fire is still color-coded, and when I read what strikes me as an Ellisian line like 'my cunning plan,' I never imagined it coming from someone with a NY accent. None of this detracts from my enjoyment of the series tho'.

P.S. RPG off of Destro's head was excellent.

I was never a GI Joe fan as a kid - the UK version of the GI Joe figure line was Action Man. I think we had a crappy Action Man cartoon in the 90's (Action Man the figure was cancelled and later returned - with rollerblades. They were cancelled again due to lack of interest, but now there is a new line of 10" (?) figures coming out sponsored by HM Forces.

Anyway, I've really enjoyed it, and without knowing much of the GI Joe back story, it looks like a couple of decades of GI Joe history have been resolved in the last few episodes.

I finally got around to watching 1 – 10. Great stuff; GI Joe is infinitely more interesting when death enter the equation as opposed to the whole show being a game of laser tag. I especially enjoyed some of the kooky dialogue from the Zartan, the Baroness and Destro; it reminded me of The Incredibles. I especially enjoyed the Snake Eyes/Stormshadow storyline.

Skimming the comments here and eagerly anticipating watching this on CN on Saturday night.

Warren, do animation scripts call for difficult or different terminology or formatting than live-action screenplays?

More directing-on-the-page -- more descriptive work and acting-indications than in live-action screenplays.

You made GI JOE awesome again.

    Time for a PSA now:

'Hey kids, don't weaponize futuretech. You might indirectly lead to the destruction of a major world city when it's hijacked by a famous terrorist group. And if you see Osama Bin Laden, give us a call, we still haven't caught him yet.'

One of my favorite Ellis-isms is on display when Gung-Ho sits down with the support staff and says, "Okay, kids. Talk to me about weapons."

Part of what I love about Ellis characters is their willingness to admit what they do not know, and their confidence that they can learn it if it's explained to them by experts.

Another "I know nothing about G.I. Joe" question.

Did they ever fight anybody other than Cobra?

    a lack of knowledge?
