Ok as a horror geek I loved both The Descent and Dog Soldiers. And I will admit Rhona Mitra was why I watched the first season of Boston Legal.
I am entirely aware that this does not exactly look like art.
But its got Mitra, its got Bob Hoskins and its got Malcolm McDowell chewing the scene. So yeah I damn well want to see this thing. And I trust Marshall.

Man, if it's Neil Marshal, I'm watching it. "The Descent" was the best horror movie I've seen in years. As for the trailer to this film, my connection's too slow to watch it.

I'm waiting for the rumoured Dog Soldiers 2 (rumoured for YEARS) set on an oil rig.
Heard about this filming, and I wish I'd gone for an agent a year earlier now (well, wish I had the money at the time). Marshall hasn't let me down yet and this looks like a fun ride. It also looks like what would probably happen (survivors in Scotland doesn't mean there's a cure or an immunity, it means we took the virus in to an alley, cut its balls off and fed it to the bastard for trying to take over).
And this comes out on my Birthday. Fuckin A. -
Doomsday looks like a lot of fun.

I've said this elsewhere, but I just have to believe that this'll be a fun flick. It looks like he specifically set out to make a fun, ridiculous, post-apocalyptic action movie, and as far as I'm concerned, when Neil Marshall sets out to do something, he succeeds. I just gotta believe in the guy. He's got too much on the ball to go all 90's John Carpenter on us only 3 movies into his career. -

Also, yeah, I found this website the other day, but never had chance to watch the trailer, and then I forgot about it. I remember being sad yeeears ago that they didn't use Rhona Mitra as Lara Croft after I saw some pictures of her in costume. I still think it would have been pretty interesting. -
Really, really want to like this, but the trailer looks scrappy at best. Visually and tonally inconsistent, and cheap looking to boot. I loved Dog Soldiers and The Descent, but this looks like Marshall's spread himself too thin. That said, I wont feel I've given this film a fair shake unless I go and see it on the big screen.

I loves me some John Carpenter, but I maintain the blasphemy that Escape From New York has a low execution/concept ratio. It isn't in my top 5 Carpenter films.

I really enjoyed Marshal's other films but Doomsday looks like absolute rubbish. The trailer looked so formulaic that it's pathetic. Once again the audience watches the badass supermodel type heroine battle her way through hordes of plague survivors and everytime she's attacked she's attacked one at a time because that's what you'd learn in an extreme doomsday scenario to fight fairly(and apparently with swords too). I've got to say it will look good but as for story quality, rubbish. -

See, I think the trailer is unfortunately crap.
It still makes me want to see the film, because I am sorta filling in the gaps based on the director and cast.
And the fact I hear it has cannibalism in it. -

Any movie will be significantly improved if any form of cannibalism is involved. ^_^ -

The trailer looks cheap as fuck but then so was Dog Soldiers and that turned out okay. Also there's a hot looking psycho with a mohawk in it and I am a walking bag of hormones. -
@m1k3y: That ones been rumoured for a LOOOOOOOOOONG time now though so don't know if it will ever see the light of day. The good thing for me would be if they made it and I got a part I probably wouldn't have to go far as there's a shite load of oil rigs within 4 miles of me (Invergordon is where they fly for the winter I think)

- It doesn't involve Neil Marshall
- It doesn't involve any of Dog Soldiers' production team
- It doesn't involve any of Dog Soldiers' cast or crew
- It's being done by Americans
The Neil Marshall bit is the only definite bit there... -

I will check it out.
You can't mention Rhona in Tomb Raider drag and not post a photo, preferably a big one.
