    I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
    I seriously don't get the big fascination. If one is so adamant to have some FA merc, one could always make a stensil and spray paint a design on their own. Just look at the 'homemade' thread for brilliantly skillful examples. The money saved can be invested in another copy of FA volume 2... it makes a good present.

    I've spoken to him about these shipping charges, and he hasn't found away around them yet.

    Here's a rash thought; how about looking into producing them in England? Or if no one can match exactly the same product, then have a different UK version/product line. It'll reduce shipping costs for us on this side of the pond and it'll perhaps spur more sales due to the collectibility of the item.

    This was something I was going to suggest. Obviously the guys who currently produce them wont be too happy as they are expecting to get $30 every time they ship to England, but from the looks of the comments here they arent doing much shipping to England as it is. Which is a shame, because Id like to get my hands on some of the stuff. But when the shipping costs more than the two shirts themselves.... =(

    I think for Warren and Paul though, the loss in shipping $$ will easily be made up by the higher numbers of people buying in the UK. It evens out?

    It's probably much simpler to find a better courier, and charge for shipping on a sliding scale based on weight rather than a flat rate for any item. There are plenty of businesses which offer affordable international shipping, they can't all be bending over backwards with effort or doing it at a loss. I guess the problem is that this causes quite a lot of upheaval and requires work on the website. Perhaps there just isn't enough demand to justify it?

    Just to add a data point... I have just created an account here just to post this comment saying that I just went to buy a bag, and probably would have picked up the paperbacks and a t-shirt or two while I was at it, but there's no way I'm paying that shipping charge.

    Does anybody know if any UK comic stores stock the merchandise? Presumably I can get the books there at least, but if I can pick up a bag as well that'd be nice.

    Just an FYI, but if you really want one bad enough, just search on Amazon for "Engineer's M-51 field bag". The FA field bags are just these field bags with a FreakAngels logo on it, applied via a stencil. I suggest you print out the FA logo, glue it on a piece of posterboard, get an exactoknife and carve it out, then apply either black permanent marker or black spray paint and have your own homemade FreakAngels field bag that is identical to the one you missed out on.

    Once I get mine from Amazon, I might just take pictures of me doing that so I can post it as a guide.

    @ Dee_Noir my buddy had a birthday right before the movie came out, and we were at wal-mart and decided to get him a little cake. they had one with the wal-mart smiley already, so I just had the (un)friendly bakery worker apply a dab of red icing. it was PERFECT! I mean... wow.

    You might think about getting permission from Warren and/or Paul. On my planet, we have copyright and trademark protections, and some people even believe an artist has moral rights in the use of his work. Just something to think about, at least the moral rights part.

    @MrMonk - You are right, and artists certainly deserve their dues, but don't forget <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use">fair usage policy</a>.

    Forced intercourse not withstanding, I don't really see any problem with showing people how to pay homage when the only revenue stream this generated has dried up since they're now sold out. I didn't end my post with "so you can buy the olive field bag from me instead". If Warren or Avatar say "please don't" for whatever the reason, I won't.

    There's a bit of a difference between making a personal bit of swag for oneself and teaching your fellows how to make swag that directly competes with created merchandise, and possibly takes away from creator revenue. Also I doubt that black marker and spray paint'll hold up as well in the was cycle as something professionally made.

    Always nice to make something for yourself (I do love my home-stenciled FA hoodie) but show a little respect and keep your how-to-rip-off-Warren comments to a certain level of niceness (or totally to yourself), I say.
