A few comments on the M-51 Engineer Bag. I've had one for a few months and love it, although there are a few things you should be aware of in it's construction.
No keyring snap: I like having a keyring to snap my keys into, so that regardless of how I throw my bag around, they'll never fall out.
Shoulder strap padding: The shoulder strap doesn't have much padding, so if you are going to be carrying a heavy load, it will start cutting into your shoulder quicker than other messenger bags.
Load-bearning: the handle and shoulder strap are anchored to the top flap. This isn't a problem, except for the fact that the flap is anchored by a single latch. If that fails, then you've lost the use of both the handle and the shoulder strap.
Overall it's a great bag! I'm sad that I already had one so I couldn't justify getting the FreakAngels one.
Mine arrived today. My camera died yesterday. The universe can be an inconvenient place at times.
Still, I ordered the smaller bag for my niece and she's very happy with it, already transplanting all her stuff from her old bag to this one. So far it seems lovely and practical.
Got my Freakangels field bag and KK T-shirt through the post yesterday. Now I need to go on a shopping spree to fill the myriad sections and pouchs.
I know people are complaining about the postage, but I paid $30 postage to the UK and the actual cost of postage was $39.50, so they don't even cover their postage costs on this one.
yes! i finally did it. couldn't order it via comcav directly at first, asked them about it, they apologized and offered an alternative solution. and now i just have to wait for my bag to arrive. won't post any pictures like Sara 013 did, though. (because, unlike her pic, which makes you want to peek behind the bag, mine would make you want to peek into your skulls as to never, ever have to see such a terrible sight again...)
Anyone know the internal measurements of the main compartment?
I'm looking for something I can use as a record bag (unforunately most things sold as a "record bag" are either very ugly or basicaly cheap cheap plasticky satchel) + would love it if I could use a field bag.
