Thanks for the feedback! It was a fun exercise. I started that one with a bit of graphite and then sharpened it up with a dried up old PITT brush pen (my favourite drawing tool) and a bit of #3 warm grey marker. I had bunch of ideas for this challenge, but I decided to go for a 'sewer prophet' look for Octopus here, like the later years of Marvel's Abomination.

    @David

's okay. You used the word "drat", and that makes up for it in my book.

@zombieininzen...Very nice. My favorite here so far.
@David Lee Ingersoll...Also very nice. I want an action figure of that guy.

I'm thinking that Ectoplasmosis is going to have their Cthulhu Cthursday sewn up with this thread.
Here's my own attempt, a little peekaboo with a Chulhoid....

    Hi all,

I haven't completed one of these in a while. Nice to be back.

    Hope you enjoy. Thanks.

Whitechapel breaks my brain some days. Not just because of the fantastic work in this thread and the other RRs, but the assortment of unexpected things I'm hit with every day. Case in point- Just the other day I was just thinking about an old B&W series from the 90s called Misspent Youths, and here's David Lee Ingersoll drawing The Octopus.

Thanks MDominic... the obvious Cthulhu connections were kicking at my brain too ... that and that damn Beatle song about the garden.

@David Lee Ingersoll... like a He-Man baddie :D very cool.

@Rooth reminds me of them covers from pulp horror magazines that I was never allowed to read as a kid.

@huatnee love the look and the colors... I want the comic!

Lots of cool Octopi. I especially like Rooth's, coffeemug's, and Matt Boyce's.

Here's mine. I really loved the fucked-upness of the original premise, although I think I may have verged into fanfic territory here, sorry.

Here's to hoping the extra-large image resizes; if not, I'll re-edit. Larger image here.

I do love me some R:R. Though I'm no good at 2D art, I'd like to throw a few extra brain bits into the mix.

The Mimic Octopus is really good at mimicing.
    sea creatures are scary

There are also ones like the blue-ringed octopus which are quite deadly.
    aaaahhh

And they're super-smart. We've started giving them Rubix Cubes to determine if they favor one limb over others.
