@Egypt Urnash - I'm loving those classy-turned-badass-fingerless gloves there. Brilliant touch.
  2.  (5804.102)
Egypt Urnash: Thanks for joining JUST to post that pic. Hopefully it won't be the last we see from you, as that was gorgeous!

I looked through the archives of the remake/remodel, and I will probably be back for these, at least! Every Sunday, it looks like?

Am currently without a scanner, so do forgive the terrible quality of picture.

This was hell of fun, can't wait 'til the next one.

Lots of great ones, so far. Looks like I'll be getting to mine late, this week...

OK, Finally! Sheesh, I'm getting slow in my old age. Here's my entry.
I figure that since octopuses have chromatophors (the cells that allow them to change color and patterns on their epidermis), our villain would use his to expertly disguise himself, as you can see. Does this make any sense? No? Good...

Here's a detail of The Octopus himself, in case anyone cares for a closer look:

    My faves so far:
Nygaard: Love the flinging of surgical gear!
    David Lee Ingersoll
    Tyim: Mech-octopus = awesome
    Rooth: digging the detail work
Adrian Rivero: Nice rending and details
    Pia: Love
    Hive317: Love the illustration!
Egypt Umash: Love the vector work. Sleek!

@Paul Sizer - Sir, this is awesome! I'm loving the detail on the tentacles and jerry curl :)

PS I totally dig the use of chromatophors to give him a 'face'

Paul Sizer....sir, that is seven kinds of impossibly awesome, all of them before breakfast. I doff my pen cap to you.

Your wit is shining through there Mr. M. The concepts as cool as the execution. The Octopus-Quack M.D.

    @Sizer

My favorite bit, honestly, is the ID badge. I've stopped being bowled over by your style (as I just expect awesomeness now) so I start looking at silly little details like that. Well done, sir.

Also the slime on the UV cannon-thing. Smiles all over.

@RickiePooh: Thanks, I liked the ID badge idea as well, as he would see that as the final touch to securing his secret ("Well, my badge says this is what I look like, so there!"). I'm not sure what inspired me to use the Harpo Marx wig as part of the disguise, but his sloppy "face" camouflage/chromatophor is really an insult to real octopuses. They are much more skilled/subtle than that!

Anyone interested in making a Remake/Remodel book through lulu? We could make it Whitchapel exclusive, just pay the base cost if you want a copy. Just a thought.

Thanks much, Warren, for putting up with all us pesky artist types. Whitechapel is a fecund place for artists to hang out. Which sounds really dirty, now that I've typed it...

    Gott DAMN, Paul Sizer!

EDIT: Working backwards: And Adrian, Hive, Pia, Urdnash and more....too much goodness to track.
