    What the heck, one more for the road... just pencilled, but I might do a painting of this later on. Thanks to everyone for this great experience of sharing each other's work. You guys are amazing! I have never done anything like this before, and I honestly can't remember when I've felt more creatively alive. Many thanks Mr.Ellis for making this all possible, looking forward to the next challenge.

    @Rooth - That is just incredible. The brands are a great addition, and a creative manipulation of the description we were provided with. Great definition, too. It's easy to get confused with pencil shading, but you avoided it well. And they're staring one another down!

    Damn, Rooth! Nice one, mate!

    As ever I'm stunned by so many of the contributions. To the point where I can comment individually for fear of forgetting someone who's stuff I really liked.

    All of you people are many many orders of magnitude more talented than I will ever be with drawing. Colour me envious.

    So many good entries to comment... This R/R's been awesome so far. Too bad this week has been shit for me and I couldn't make my own. Maybe I can find some time through the weekend.

    Kudos everybody!

    Another odd twist on this character wormed it's way out of me in an idle moment, and I thought it was too cute to keep to myself. No time for color, but I fiddled around with greyscale a bit....

    Octopus2

    I picture someone who was born armless and legless, strangely birthmarked and with violet eyes, who chose an odd path to overcoming adversity....

    I joined Whitechapel to participate in these Remake/Remodel discussions. Here's my take on The Octopus. (I also did a Detective Eye that can be found at my deivantART gallery.)

    I like the little octo-logo on his mask.

    @Oxbrow
    The Octopus figures that if the little mask works for Robin, it works for him too.

    I love the small mask. What exactly is he hiding?

    Hey White-Chapelers, I'm a new-boy and am eager to do something for the octopus. Quick question - What does Warren mean by "No pen-portraits"?

    ^ No written description, no long backstory, no in-depth character analysis. Just the art, ma'am. In fact, no fiction anywhere on Whitechapel. It's a legal protection, as I understand it. See The Rules thread up in the stickies for more.

    EDIT: And where are my manners? Hello and welcome! :)
