    @ 3Millionyears. Nice. I was going to do a similar thing with old Madge Windsor only in context of a David Icke style exposé but since you beat me to it, I'll go with my second idea and hopefully get it in on time this week.

    @Alberto; Vagina webs. Now why didn't I think of that? Corking art, too.

    @lordmitz; Awesome job. You've nailed the criteria: I want to read your Spider Queen.

    @Egypt; Beautiful work. Great use of solid colours!

    Inspiration struck early this week for me, too.

    @Egypt Urnash

    Nice work. So what's your modus operandi? Do you always begin with a sketch? Is it all done in Illustrator?

    @krista noisrot
    So is this a shaman Spider Queen? (I like the face paint replicating an arachnid's multiple eyes.)

    @krista For Anansi's Sake! You have some serious voodoo going on there. Nice take!

    @Ken, I used to always start on paper, and for some things (like the ~170p graphic novel in the works) I still do, but lately I've just been opening up a new Illustrator document and scrawling stuff out with the pencil tool, then treating that like any other sketch and making a bunch of layers full of solid shapes beneath it. Especially for silly quick stuff like this.

    AI's been my main medium for most of a decade now so I have a lot of cheap tricks stored in my head.

    @krista, that's lovely. I hope she watches out where she steps with those big clunky boots so as not to squish any spider friends, though!

    I'll put some ink to it later in the week, right now I'm tired so tired ug.

    Also that's a handful of spiders she's pulling out of the bag. Yup.

    I don't think this one cares all that much about crime fighting, but I imagined her lounging about in a spiderweb dress.

    Wow! Lots of great entries!!! Dunnagin, krista noisrot, and rootfireember's are all really great.

    I'm in the middle of mine, and will try to post later tonight. Went a different way, but totally had a funny idea when I saw rootfireember's that Spider Queen should just be some person that a giant spider has laid all its eggs in and is a walking incubation chamber... Funny?

    A quickie is all I can post this week. Still busy as hell.

    Looks promising, all this...

    Ok, here's mine for the week:

    Spider Queen 1

    Spider Queen 2

    I'm really waiting for the heavyweights' take on this character...Octopus was brilliant, this thread is promising!
