Wow.! That's killer, I love the rendering and the dark creepy coloring. Absolute knockout!

This thread seems to be revealing a crop of really good first timers. Fresh art blood! Yay!

    spider woman gray

Man, this thread. It's magically delicious. don't know where to begin. everyone rocks. I think someone asked, so here's the "gray version" before I dorked around with the digital color. It's ink on plain ol' bristol paper.

Thanks for the comments! I've been following these redesign threads for awhile before finally deciding to post my work starting with the Octopus.

@ Paul Sizer: I always look forward to your posts, they never disappoint
@ chris g: I like the character design

There's so much talent on this forum it's insane. The amount of inspiration people have slams my dials into the red every time.

    Here's my (visual) two cents.

not necessarily a queen or a spider, but it seemed to fit, so..

Gray ink version looks just as sweet.

chris g: To reiterate--if I were independently wealthy, you would be too.

David Lee Ingersoll: oooh, pretty! I love the line-work, and I'm a sucker for that sort of shading. Also: eee, spiders! I used to feed the spiders on the basement stairs juicy flies and bees, and any other prey I could offer them.

@Mark Nice. sinistersexy. Also, despite the fact it looks like speedwork, its quite evident you have some skills there.
@Chris_g Sweet. I like the woundface

From sketches I made on the phone - the eyes I got the idea from Black Widow II in the current Thunderbolts!

I can't help but think of Arachne from the recent Soul Eater arc. But this reminds me of another Remake thread from somewhere or other, in which Spiderman is reimagined as, rather than the webslinging fast talking protagonist, the quiet, methodical villain at the centre of a web of manipulation, observation and subversion.

@everyone... fuck I love these threads!
@Mark - That's an insane amount of beauty and fear you got in that picture.

OK here is my first R/R post. Love the idea behind this thread so wanted to get involved!

A pretty simple take on the character which unfortunately has been visited by posts prior to mine, but I promise this was already in the pipeline!

    Spider Queen by Suggymoto

PS - My character is radioactive, hence the green :)

Suggymoto: Your Spider Queen is hawt, and not just 'cause she's radioactive. Nice hips, legs, hair, back. And the arms don't freak me out.

Waited till the last minute. From the picture and description I felt it was more about being sexy and fighting crime then being spider like and swinging around So I went more based on both combat and stunning her enemies with skin then being scary and queen like(Mark up there seemed to incorporate all of those things though). I figured it would be wise to veer in a direction then to try everything. Forgot to draw the webs and shit. I imagine it was that non lethal foamy/webby stuff that actually exists that she would use. So she has the wrist nozzles and hoses for it. My girl looks like she has a serious fetish.

I only bothered to color the skin. Does that make me a bad man? Probably.
