    Working through some old Nine Inch Nails records, that I haven't listened to since high school. Kinda glad they never went in any of the purges, 'cause the Terminator trailer had me wanting to give them another spin.

    EDIT TO ADD: Also listening to the new Metric album, which is fucking fantastic.

    This morning's freshly purchased from Emusic playlist:

    Kid 606 : Shout at the Döner
    Somatic Responses : Reformation

    Both are jumping on the Dubstep bandwagon, I think, but so far, I like it. Kid 606, brings the humor as usual, even to the Birthday Party sampling "Dancehall of the Dead", and Somatic adds some serious glitch to the dubstep sound.

    A Hawk And A Hacksaw : Délivrance

    Much more upbeat than their last few records.

    I'm torn on the Metric so far. The songs are good, but the super-compressed sound is a bit grating. Will have to try again later.

    Been browsing 433rpm, a blog specializing in cassettes. Quite a few dip into antiquity. Mostly electronic, experimental & noise, if that's your thing... Some definite gems if you dig.

    As for current listening, just grabbed 'Flood' by Boris. Starts off doing the Eno ambient bit, incommensurable cycles using guitars instead of vocals, vaguely Frippy, then goes off in its own direction with heavily overdubbed, deeply resonant percussion. Heady metal indeed. Four movements in all, and all of 'em astonish.

    'Cloud Chamber' by Boris w/ Michio Kurihara of Ghost is similarly worth exploring, though I'd only recommend it to those who don't mind being waterboarded with static, Merz-style. Starts off sweet & subtly psychedelic, very open, but by the end of track two you've been bukkake'd by Terminators.

    Outside of that... Discovered french noiseist Vivenza via design blog Jacket Mechanical. Interesting, albeit occasionally repetitious, loop work; very industrial in the sense that you feel trapped in a fully-automated factory. 'Machines' and 'Music for Metaal' are all I've heard so far-- both available from 433rpm.

    Collapse Under The Empire - Systembreakdown : usual post rock, but with added electronica for extra depth.
    Jardin De La Croix - Pomeroy: This is Progrocktastic! sounds so much like Jethro Tull and Rush it hurts
    Manatees - Icarus, The Sunclimber: Possibly one of the best DOOMKRUSHER albums i´ve heard for a while. Still to beat Sun 0))) though...
    Religious Girls - Religious Girls EP: the drumming on this one is rather tribal and hypnotic
    Phlow Magazine presents Their Finest Hour Vol. 2: A compilation of Electronica, Techno and accoustic beats from the Phlow Magazine website which gives loads of music away for free!
    Bird from the Abyss - I: Very heavy psych doom mashup
    Marmaduke Duke - Duke Pandemonium : the Singer from Biffy Clyro in electronic/funk/pop shocker!

    and STILL listening to the Horrors Album. the fact that it hasn´t bored me after listening to it about what feels like a gazillion times has to mean it has some good points...
