    Dearest Whitechapel,

Thought I'd drop you a line, thinking this would be right up your alley. As a fundraiser for my new play (sci-fi theatre and whatnot), and the Open Rights Group (defending your civil liberties in the digital age), myself and a friend will be encasing ourselves in 4ft diameter geodesic spheres for 48 hours. Without entertainment. And broadcasting it live on the internet.

We enter the pods at 3pm BST today. Broadcasting will begin at 3pm at www.mayflowerindustries.com . You can follow the twitter feed (updated by our "Ground Crew") @escapefringe . Donations, heckling and other interactions are all welcomed via the website. You can even choose which terrible music we get tortured with.

Sure, this is just another crazy internet thing. But it's all for a good cause. Not only will you be supporting the growth of new theatre, and science fiction theatre at that, but you'll also be supporting a superb, hard-working charity who are fighting the good fight to protect our civil liberties in the digital world. So come protect your freedom by watching us lose ours!

"What the team doesn't know is that we've released three knife-wielding monkeys inside the spheres with them.
Let's see what happens, shall we?"

Great concept, but you ought to add monkey knife fighting to the mix.

    Even without the knife-fighting monkeys.

Yeah, because that's the first thing I'd be worried about. "What will they watch?"

No, you know, "I get to see two guys shit in a box" or anything...

They could probably hold their mud for 48 hours, if they ate a wheel of cheese or something, but they will definitely be in a giant ball of piss by the end, unless there is a convenient knothole somewhere. (Maybe the knothole would provide some entertainment as well.)

Why wood? 48h with splinters everywhere?

Also, why balls? They get to roll around?

I guess the point is that, we make questions = you win.

didn't david blane do this? isn't he shit?

funnily enough, i prefer tihs idea almost 100 times more than his. at least this is raising funds for a cause...

we can't attach hamburgers to a remote controlled helicopter to distract you two though. that was what made the blaine thing fun! the trusty london drunks.

The boys made it to 24 hours. They are hitting a wall now though.
