If the pop term is suicide survivor it's wholly inadequate, but I am it. The survival tag feels limp because while something internal is diseased its terminal nature is self-inflicted. No chemo or operations. Just pills, razors, or a rapid river in my case.

The only similarities in our lives is at 28 we both wanted to die. That was 8 years ago for me. The pathetic thing is that I remember the circumstances of my existence none of which seem insurmountable in retrospect. As the adage goes: permanent solution to temporary problems.

Or, as Jim Carroll wrote post-Cobain, you can negotiate with the monkey whatever your monkey is.
