    Apperantly the Westboro Baptist Church have made plans to picket Ledger's funeral on the grounds that he played a homosexual in Brokeback Mountain.

    While it's not the first time that a hate-group have tried to get a little attention when the spotlight turns to others' sorrow (they've picketed the funerals of soldiers killed in action in Iraq) I am almost amused by the notion that they think they'll be able to picket Ledger's funeral.

    His funeral is most likely to be in Australia, so how the cadaverous Herr Phelps and his crack battalion of inbred Christ-troopers plan to picket it will be entertaining either way. If they don't show up, they've pussed out. If the do they'll be incarcerated (at best) because that whole "Free Speech" clause that they cling to and blatantly abuse? We don't have that down here.

    These fuckers show up at every high-profile funeral in hopes of getting national press. A biker group, made up of a lot of military veterans, has started showing up at WBC protests and hassling the hell out of them. It's quite fun to watch. What goes around comes around, you holyroller, pricks.

    This is the sort of thing that might normally get me all riled and pissed off, but I've come to view these people the same way I view the stinking hobo in rags muttering about how the end is nigh on the subway. I just sigh and go about my business because they are obviously crazy and that's that.

    Snipers...with tranquilizer darts. Knock them out, discretely, from a distance, and let the funerals proceed.

    I don't know about that, what do they learn? Maybe being dragged off to jail in a foreign country will make them appreciate their free speech rights at home.
