Right. Shit. This is the week that my computer bloody dies on me, along with all the passwords I forgot and never wrote down... I have a drawing, freshly inked, but it'll require much swearing to turn this laptop into a scanning thing because I have no boot discs either. hmm...

Okay, I'm still working on my Hoku pic, but here's an early experiment. As you can see: the 21st century Ghost Exterminator comes equipped with body armour and LOTS of ghost bottles (you never know when a ghost gang might attack!) -

This is a weird, very busy week for me, so I'm posting what I can when I can. That said, here's what I have for this week's thread so far:

I'm not sure when I'm going to have the time to do the final colors on this, but I have some cool ideas for the color FX on the ghost parts that I want to try out; it's just a matter of finding the time, so I thought I'd post the inks for this as a placeholder. Well here it is... Once again, drew this up over cheap coffee at Mc Donalds this afternoon :P
Our poor ghost exterminator has to bottle up all kinds of desperate spirits. Like this sad girl who doesn't want to leave her room.

Only had time to pencil it tonight. I'm hoping to ink and color it by the weekend. I couldn't wait til then to post it.
My Ghost Exterminator doesn't just catch ghosts - he eats them for breakfast... and then washes them down with sake. It's a little known fact that psychic abilities can be greatly enhanced for a few hours through ectoplasmic nourishment. -

Paul Sizer: Lovvving the linework! Your stuff is so lively, and I dig the concept. Looking forward to the colour!
zombieinzen: Great work yet again... So that's what girls look like when they haven't had their make-up session!
ESCgoat: That's just pencil? I am obliged to hate you now. It takes a trained eye to be able to discern any kind of detail in my pencils. They're insanely messy. Yours looks really clear and nice.The style of it feels kind of old-school and works really well for it.
And now for my own first finished Ghost Exterminator. This is the one I started on monday morning. I will hopefully be making my second concept later this week. This concept is pretty much a straight interpretation of the brief. Hoku is very clean, thorough and likes his foods. His assistant is weak and cowardly and would rather try to find the easy way round the situations. Also, he's sick to fucking death of being the one with the torch.
I guess I'm fairly happy with how it turned out. This was one of my first goes in a while with brush and ink, plus it was a completely new ink, so I didn't know it would bleed through the thin paper in my pad, resulting in a lot of unclean bits where ink had seeped through from behind this one. Also: My scanner sucks balls. Anyway, the colours are... fine, I suppose. Still experimenting with different ways of colouring and shading, and this is a great thread to do that within. -

I was too tired to post any explanation last night. The short version is that humanity died off in a plague. Now 7 billion human ghosts are haunting the robots that were left behind.
Lots of great stuff in the thread. Kudos to Magnulus for his comments on everyone's contributions.
