    Page 6 is awesome.

Sixtieth episode, It seems everything started like yesterday. Thank you good people of Whitechapel, I mean the Authors and the team, and we're looking forward to enjoying at least the next 60.

    just damn

excellent art and I was totally not expecting Kait's torture pit - as was said previously - excellent reveal.

It seems that Kait has a pathological obsession with Law and Order and takes her role as police, judge, jury and executioner quite seriously.

    I still like her though

Why do I feel like I've seen page six before? I mean, not exactly, but the composition feels familiar for some reason.

Aside from that, the details on page five, panel one are fantastic. The shadows, 'Kady's foot/posture, etc.

Also, that's some wicked shorts action Karl's got going on.

Morning status: groggy. Contemplating purchasing a giant bottle of Mountain Dew.

Kait -is- the Jack Bauer type, but she doesn't really need to torture people to obtain information, does she?

On the other hand, keeping them manacled in a concrete pit until they wear their hands down to the wrists pounding on the walls and maybe shooting a dude here and there is A-OK.

Interesting conundrum: is it better to have her never know that this happened to her in the alley?

Exceptional episode. I haven't looked forward to anyone's work like this since, well, since TRANSMET ended, frankly...

"i'm sorry" "I don't want to die" "LET ME OUT!" - The plaintive cries of every criminal. Do you think she's fooled for a second by all that twaddle? She Is Not. This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps*. (That's one for all the Big Lebowski fans out there.)

Should I be so amused that after two weeks of moral debate over Luke and his activities, it's suddenly revealed he's not the only monster still in the 'angel fold? Because it seems mighty clear that something very bad has been happening there, and with a fair amount of regularity from the looks of it.

This clears up a few questions, and raises a few others:

    1. It seems pretty obvious now that at least some of the Freakangels CAN mask use of their powers. Or maybe it's just that the difference between controlling a persons mind 'reads' little different from peeking into a sick girls tummy. In that case, it's less about WHAT power is being used than it is about WHO'S using a power.

    2. Making the girl forget what happened is a double edged sword, it seems. Alice clearly doesn't approve. Why would she? That was done to her, not only by Mark, but then the rest of them. How sure are we of what they let her remember and what they didn't - and now how sure is she? Seeing this might bring up all kinds of nasty fears in her, to say nothing of how alienated it's leaving her on several levels.
But, we know that right now only Alice knows about them fully. So Sirkka doing the wipe on this poor girl was both a kindness to her, and another example of them covering up the fact they exist. It also renders their best witness to this useless.
Funny, if Alice was in the mood she could go up the watchtower and get on the radio and tell all of Whitechapel the truth.

    3. So they have a place to keep Luke now - but how do you keep a Freakangel in chains? Or in a cage or anything else they don't want to be in? This means a babysitter, most certainly. And it'd have to be another 'angel, more probably a few of them.
Unless they just hold 'court' immediately, this is going to be a really taxing situation for all of them.

Can't wait to see where this goes.

Paul, gorgeous work on the light/shadow effects on the swimming pool. What could have been a boring shot becomes something seething with menace.

I told ya all months ago I thought Kait was a nutter...that stink they smelled...old rotten blood I'm assuming. ewww...

Oh wow..what a week. My birthday happened three days ago. I went to see the new transformers movie (my hubs is a HUGE collector...he's bound to have about eight hundred figures now...all in the bedroom...all staring at us...), which was better than the first wouldn't take much really (I'll watch it if I can skip every scene with Shia, his parents and that greasy girlfriend...), but I geeked out during the starscream and megatron kids made cards for me with lovely coupons for hugs and icecream and housework, and I got a new houseplant (been a little hobby of mine lately...making the air cleaner in my house of stinky critters and children).
Eight years and three days ago was the aniversary of me escaping a very very bad two year "marriage" to a very unsavory "man", after he was arrested that morning, along with alot of my "friends" for running a theft ring (what it boiled down to were a bunch of highschool kids being lead by a charismatic but evil son of a bitch, to steal random stuff from the local university). He went to jail, I got out (after four years of court trials and four hours of county jail time my case was dismissed). Four days after his arrest and my relative freedom, I met my current husband and we just sorta fell into a relationship and have been together every since. We celebrate our aniversary on the day we met, and got married, finally, three years ago tomarrow.
    Yay for eight years!

Warren you truely are a God of words and Pauls art is truely breath taking. Looking forward hugely now to next weeks episode. So much speculation and possible ways this could go. Damnit, a weeks too long.

Morning, Whitechapel. Eyes no focus so good yet need rinse out with caffiene magic go juice now. How's everyone else?

Recovering from a terrible month of poorly prescribed medications and family problems. Also, sleep pattern is completely fucked. So yeah, my mood has been less than stellar and very, very erratic, but stomps -- I mean, steps are being taken to solve this.

As for this episode, it's exceptional, in fact FreakAngels is being a tremendously pleasant read with phenomenal artwork. Keep it up, Warren, Paul and Ariana. And thanks for the awesome yet free reading material.

I can't say that I am really that shocked by SIrkka's actions or Kait's secret. Both seems to fall into line with how they have been presented. And we've seen them fix situations by messing with a mind (Alice).

Also, did anyone else notice that with the exception of Karl (Tower) and Jack (Boat), all FA's are accounted for? This made for two interesting twitches in my head.

Where is Luke? He is not pictured in the final reveal. Who is watching him at the moment that everyone is finding a place to keep watch of him.

Alice is not present. Is she watching him? If he comes around long enough to get into her head, do you think he will escape? Also, Alice is not included in the reveal, so honorary FA or not, there are still things that are being kept from her.

Paul, as usual, stunning art. You really get my envy gene going.
Warren is still showing himself to be a stunning story teller.

I'm off to make my mother-in-law's birthday cake. Which is a scary amount of pressure.

    @ Michael Furious -
It also renders their best witness to this useless.

Doubtful the poor girl could testify to much, anyway.

Sirkka "reset her sense memory". So she wouldn't get weird feelings and nightmares and stuff. Smell something familiar and it all comes drifting back.

Interesting point, about caging an 'angel. Although, he'll have Kait to keep him company. She's one of the ones who hasn't hit him yet. I'm sure she'll make up for lost time.

And I'm not condoning police brutality. But it's a fact of life, even in a flooded world. (Especially and especially since Kait is the Lone Ranger and she doesn't appear to have a Tonto. Sure, she can call in the Cavalry, Artillery, even but she stalks the streets alone.)

Next episode? Will probably be one of Warren's patented violence scenes, like Fred Christ and the Chair Leg of Truth of Michael Jones taking out Filthy's flunky. (I hope!)

My only complaint is that it's only six pages. *ducks flying arse eels*
