Back again with some more from the recent Melbourne session, starring Anna the Pocket Rocket on hula hoops and trapeze. She was fantastic and held some really difficult poses. Also mixed it up a bit in the session and had t-shirts for some of us to draw on. I drew on a ladies t and was pretty happy with the image, but don't have a photo yet. Hopefully I'll get one with a lovely lady friend of mine modeling it for you soon... Til then, some I worked up after the session: More
So they changed my Dr. Sketchy's venue and I wasn't entirely pleased with the results. The original space had a round area more condusive to lots of people drawing and the current space is a music venue with tables and different levels that affect visibility, BUT.
Great work dorkmuffin! You've also reminded me that I haven't posted my latest ones yet. For shame!
Some pencilly space-themed stuffs deathly-occult-native-american themed Everything on the day was pencil, because their costumes were so beautifully complex and there was so much detail to capture. Threw some ink at them from home. Results:
Went to my first Dr. Sketchy last night! You can see by the first scan that it took me a while to loosen up.
This one was where I tried to be less literal
And I won a contest! We had to re-interpret the model as a D&D Monster Manual creature. I'm afraid my intense nerd-ery came in handy. It was supposed to be an aboleth from memory, but I realized later I messed up the head.
I participated in a special Dr. Sketchy's in the bowels of the Queen Mary, during a tattoo convention. I haven't scanned any of my sketches, (pretty sucky - haven't done life drawing in years!) but I have a couple of photos:
Kim Boekbinder graced Dr Sketchy's in Melbourne this weekend, along with Agent Cleave. It was epic. Here are my meagre attempts to capture the epicness: I also forgot to post some from previous sessions, so if you like the above, check out my full Dr Sketchy set on flickr.
I haven't made it to a Dr Sketchy's session since January this year which is almost criminal, so to psyche myself up for the next session I'm finally posting my sketches from January.
I'm getting a bit better at figures in general but have a very poor grasp of representing facial features accurately :-P
Had some free time this week, so inked some of my sketches from last month. Prison theme, starring Strawberry Siren. And one from August, because I forgot.
And whilst I'm at it here are my sketches for October's Melbourne session with Miss Nic! It was a fantastic session and she held those poses for ages, very impressive.
I wanted to give you all a sneak preview of some of the photos from our Sandman Dr. Sketchy's NYC session! If you were there in the crush of the crowds and have some artwork, please share. This one was so epic <3
