You know, when the title of an original story sounds stupid, you change it on the movie adaptation. What movie was loosely based on "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep"?

(of course, there is people who LOVE that title, but hey...)

Aniway...

...

...

...

Quantum of Solace? What the fuck?

@Trotsky
plenty of us remember and think that version of Casino Royale is the best bond film. Great cast -especially Woody Allen as Jimmy bond/Dr Noah. And who can forget Orsen Welles as Le Chiffre. I haven't seen the new version because I think it would spoil the first one.

I actually got exactly what it meant when I first read it - science background and all. They may be overstimating just how far quantum has permeated into the general conciousness though.

I'd like to know more about the plot before saying anything about the title, but by itself, I'll agree it doesn't really sound like a Bond film.

Well, it's Paul Haggis writing this movie, so that usually means it will be great.

Pretty fair bet, yes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/For_Your_Eyes_Only#.22Quantum_of_Solace.22 - the plot of the short story the movie takes its name from. While I'd like to read it now, I somehow doubt that it's what the new movie will be about.

I would definitly watch a film called Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.

I dunno, but "Blade Runner" sounds better... although I also would watch a movie named Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Then again, I most definitely would watch a movie named Quantum of Solace. All that doesn't mean it's a good title.

I want something with Hank Scorpio in it.

Does this mean the Bond film after next will be called The Hildebrand Rarity? Or Risico? They're the only remaining unused Fleming Bond titles...
6. (628.32)
My bet would be on Risico, actually.

I pity whoever gets picked to do the title theme tune...

The last one had little to do with the title (not to mention made no sense. "You Know My Name?" No I don't, it's your fucking origin), so I doubt it'll affect it at all.
7. (628.34)
I doubt the people making the movie are going to dismiss the idea of paying some musician to fit "Quantum of Solace" in his theme and then watching his brain melt...

I enjoyed the last movie more than I expected to. It was an interesting take on 007. I'm kind of looking forward to the next one if only to see if they keep on the same kind of track, or if they go back to the "normal" Bond movie formula.

i like the last one a lot too, i actually believed daniel craig could kill me, whereas pierce brosnan couldn't rip a wet hankie in half.

haha, i think i just quoted from the beano.

That was the rumor for ages for this one too. So yeah, seems a serious front runner for the next.

Hmm, this makes Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull sound quite reasonable, no?

Still, bring it on, Daniel Craig's Bond was fantastic and I'm itching for more.

(and I would also totally go to a movie called Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?)

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
Man, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is an awesome, manly title. I don't know what you're on about. :(
