Did a new free downloadable e.p here.

It's three tracks based on personal childhood demons , but hopefully a bit more fun ( and less emo) than that sounds. Not "demons" such as addiction , misery, etc. but real demons. With teeth and claws and everything. They scared the shit out of me, and this is my attempt to tame them ( or set them loose ? ) through the medium of instrumental electronic music.

Would love it if people left feedback ( and contact details if you like ) as new webzone is at present a howling void. Browse around and download the other if you haven't done already. Trying to build up some sort of mailing list for future physical releases , freebies etc. and it'd be great if some Whitechapellers were first in , as they're all nice and will be able to feel superior to the johny-come-latelys who'll be all over our chart-topping sellout disappointing second album in a few years.

Let me know if you like it , any suggestions for tweaks in format or presentation are welcome , and all collaboration requests are fun.
On that note , been trying to complete taphead's Almysto remix for ages but at present my working audio setup consists of a thumb piano and a guitar that I can't play. When all is up and running it will be done and available on as well.

Next e.p based on the male/female dichotomy created and maintained by followers of the Iron John movement. Might need some help there too xx

There's synths and stuff in it. It's not just demons. And two other .Please heed my wheedling.

Good things, once again. I'll chime in with some more coherent thoughts later on, but here's a first funny coincidence: During Moonhowlers a long line of firetrucks and ambulances rush rushed past my house, sirens blaring. Very appropriate I thought!

(As for the remix, no rush or obligation, etc.)

Good to see the site up and running!

I very much liked the first two tracks as ambiance (as in the genre ambient). I could have easily looped either one for a good 15 or 20 minutes. Moonhowlers was a little spiky in places in that respect, but the second half of it seemed to blend well with the other two tracks. Overall I quite liked it. I like the Notes and Ephemera inclusion, by the way. So many "Download my stuff!" packages just have the music in them. It was nice to get a little background.

This thread has reminded my I inadvertently deleted your other stuff during my Great Music Update (aka, smash it to the ground and start over). Which I've been kicking myself over.

@rickiepooh Moonhowlers is definitely a bit spiky , and maybe doesn't fit the overall feel of the e.p. It's like a retarded cousin to Denaissance , which Warren kindly praised a while ago. Which reminds me , might have to put that and a few other oldies on an e.p as well. Glad people like it so far !

I agree with Rickie. It's nice to get an artist statement.

    Enjoying the tunes, want more.

@PPJJ Thanks ! There's two more free on the site at the moment, as well as a couple of mp3s. There will be more....

This is my favourite Kemper Norton EP so far, in a run of consistent quality. Sublime.

(I'm also still banging away at my Alymysto remix... soon!!)

Thanks as always, kernowdrunk. A fantastic thing to get for free - and yes, if I had to pay for it I would. Ever thought about adding a Paypal donation box to the site?

Utterly entrancing. Made me immediately download and enjoy the rest of the work on the site. Many thanks to you.
And I second the tipjar - or at least some way to show my appreciation.

Always great to hear people enjoying stuff you've spent ages on...thanks x

Will look into the paypal thing for voluntary tips and contributions ; some sort of digital flat cap on the ground. Will make sure the link is safe , and let people know when its up and running.
It would be really useful to partially help fund future physical products, and would use any kind donations to buy me wine
allow my underappreciated and unpaid designer Miss Noma to buy some fabric and paper.

Of course , won't mind at all if people don't like paying for virtual goods...anything would be a bonus. To be honest , the main thing is hearing all the nice feedback and knowing that people like the work and are telling others...cheers !

    edited for Cornish spelling

Good work. I like the whole donation thing... I like to have the option to contribute.

Thanks to everyone for feedback , kind words and suggestions ( and for donations !)

I've put a couple of extra free mp3s on the site, including a regularly updated one on the front page , so stop by anytime.

Feel free to get in touch about any collaborations or anything. x

Let me be the asshole of the group: Put some metadata on your files, so some folks can play your stuff, so it gets picked up on stuff like, so other folks see it getting played and get curious about it....
  9.  (6375.16)
@KitsuneCaligari Good idea ! Don't really use info is picked up by it ? I seem to some tracks on there anyway..if there's any way of making it easier when uploading them to , Spotify , iTunes etc I'll add them to the files. Thanks !

I added the meta tags when I downloaded the stuff. Took about 5-10 minutes. But yeah, it would be nice to have it there already. Cover art would be cool to have too, but I'm just getting greedy. :-) I mean, I know the Notes and Ephemera has images in it, but a 500x500 piece of actual cover art could help give each release a better sense of identity.

Really, if you had the time (or someone to do it for you), you could design the hell out of the cover and the Notes and Ephemera page and create a digital "artifact". People seem to love their super-special edition CD packages, and I think your stuff would totally lend itself to having a digital version of the same thing. Just my opinion, of course.

@rickiepooh will be trying to get cover art and things when we eventually sort a physical version of any of the eps. But you're right...will be taking more time on the art and documents on the next digital ones and probably going back and adding cover art to the old eps when possible. Now I must go and discover the meaning of " meta tags ".Is that just adding in the artist and track name in an audio editor ?
    • CommentTimeJul 22nd 2009
Yeah, sorta. A meta tag (or ID3 tag) keeps a bunch of info like artist, song title, album, year, genre, stuff like that, all embedded in the file, so players (and listeners) always know what it is they're listening to without having to use weird file-naming conventions. Most editors that encode mp3s have a way to change the tags in a menu--usually something like "Properties" in the file menu--and most media player programs have some sort of tagging functionality in them, too. And there are some other, dedicated tagging programs, too. I just used Windows Media Player's "Advanced Tag Editor" to do mine.

Glad to hear you'll be doing art. I really like this project, even though I haven't really expressed that til now. Like I said, I totally forgot about it after accidentally deleting A23...

Have reloaded all the with cover art and tags , for those who might want it. The art isn't pro* or anything , but does express the feeling of each project , and it was fun to do.

I've even managed to create a naff Kemper Norton logo in the Wintervals cover which will come in handy. Also , there's an extra track now on it...the original version of Winterval. It makes the remix sound a bit less like an unholy mess and hopefully more like a cunning reimagining of blah blah.

Oh yes...and those who want the cover art without all the redownloading can find them on this page.
Thanks a lot for all suggestions and see you in the autumn with another e.p ! It's going to be about the mythopoetic men's movement , but with extra military brass and drones.

*because I tried to do them mostly myself rather than letting my talented designer do it.

    edited for links and things.
