There was, way back in the mists of... 2007... a recurrent meme among several comics art blogs. Reclaiming characters from their owners, I guess it could be broadly described as... people were reimagining abused characters (chiefly Supergirl) as artistic call-and-response various places, chiefly LiveJournal. In the aftermath of that, I did a similar thing on old messageboard The Engine, called REMAKE/REMODEL. They were embraced as technical exercises, bits of fun, ways to get the brain moving. I think most people's favourite was the dear late Mike Wieringo's wondrous retro-aristo Buck Rogers...
I thought it might be an interesting thing to bring back here. So, once a week, I'll call a character, and you art types here can post images of your reinterpretation of that character. Photography and digital art is also fine, before anyone asks.
The point is REinterpretation: remake/remodel.

Suffer with this while I'm gone:Professor Amazo gives Mary Lee, a schoolteacher, powers through an experiment. Afterword, She decides to battle the criminal underworld as Lady Fairplay, "Goddess of Chastisement". Lady Fairplay posesses "unlimited energetic powers" which include strength, speed, and recovery.
GODDESS OF CHASTISEMENT, eh? Fnarr fnarr, etc.

Aahh! does the Goddess of chastisement use arse eels, or just whips and chains?
Of course Nemesis is the goddess of 'chastisement' in mythology. -

Lady Fairplay? Whew, if she took off, DC could've had them by the ballsack.
Might have to give it a shot--as soon as I figure out a way that isn't the current Mr. Terrific turned into a girl. -
Naturally, just to be wilfully wrongheaded, I'm tempted to try a wholesome family-friendly version. I may have to lose her self-proclaimed tagline...

Just a quick one, i think i'm happy with the general character design, but i'll probably do another one sometime this week. Looking forward to everyone elses entries ^_^

Question:
I was looking at the Wiki on Nemesis - the plan being to have Lady Fairplay as a possible Avatar of this god (ala Moon Knight with Konshnu) When I came to the description it mentioned a 'crown of stags' any idea what that would look like? -

It says that the statue "included a crown of stags and little Nikes"; Nikes are winged humans: so I don't think it means a "crown" as in 'something that she'd wear' ... rather, I'm imagining something more like this, i.e. just decorative figures above.

I've been too busy with my comic (NSFW) to do these lately. Here are some quick scribbles.
Maybe I'm just a pervert, but a Batmanesque dominatrix was pretty much the first thing that leapt to mind. Chastisement, hur hur. Unlimited stamina. Hur.
I would really hate to see a comic book of this, I can't imagine it being handled in any way other than kinda stupid and sensationalistic. -

I can't find the greatest picture or illustration of it, But it seem the crown was quite litarally a crown with Stags and such making the headpiece... I did find one drawing that you can somewhat see the crown in here.
It looks to me like that stags are in a reared position, and form in the shape much like the bones in a crown of lamb. -

Here's my one: Lady Fairplay after laying the "Chastation" down. Just a bad girl trying to do some good. Don't ask what them peeps did to deserve such harsh a punishment :P As you can see... those 'Nikes' stuck with me.
I tried coloring it... but I just couldn't see the colors just yet. I colored in Lady Fairplay and then went blank. -
