Went at it from the 'Goddess' angle. Instead of actually being a full time Wonder Woman type, she's more of a Donald Blake/Thor. The experiment gives her the ability to summon Goddesses of wrath and retribution from a variety of pantheons.
I did Devi Mahatmyam Kali (yes, I am aware of how many arms Kali has at Raktabija) and Thebes Meretseger. I was hoping to post both together, but after Kali I ran out of time for Meretseger's lower half, and won't have time to draw again until Thursday.
@solace: Pure WIN. That is just awesome... love the nice clean lines and the style of it.
I love hindu art. We have a store that sells these huge (and mean like really big) posters of Hindi deities, and i just love looking at them. Your art captures the look nicely.
Sadly, I've zero time to work on a piece for this week's R&R. Pity, because it looks like this is going intereting places. Zombieinzen and Solace have really set the bar so far, despite the lack of color. Solace, I'd love to see that piece in color. Fine work.
I liked the idea of the Nikes ... and thought it would be cool if they not only looked like little babies with wings, but thought like them too. A sort of child like innocence... Imagine our Lady Fairplay dishing out bloody justice with these little guys watching with curiosity.
Ken, some of my on-line names (LiveJournal, certain IM names, etc.) happens to be remnimaat, so your version wins based on that alone (although to help with syntax, I left out the apostrophe, but it's still remnima'at to my brain). Well-played, Sir.
Meretseger, the divine wrath of the necropolis at Waset, and second chastening Goddess of Lady Fairplay.
@Ken Miller - Very nice, the antennae are an awesome touch.
@MDominic - Thank you. I haven't digitally colored an image in at least two years, I don't think I'd be doing anyone any favors with the likely results.
@meaninglessnoise - Unfortunately, there's nothing to link to that's worth showing. I hadn't put a sketch online in the last 17 months before last weeks R/R.
@ zombieinzen and letterpunk - Thanks for the positive feedback, I appreciate it.
I have one more Goddess in mind, we'll see if anything comes of it.
