I went with the "drunk" angle:

    • CommentTimeJul 28th 2009
the drunk angle is a popular one:

red stripe, you pikey fuckin' ape

what else do you do once you've killed those who wronged you? go back to the ol' eight-ace, of course.

it's either that or drumming along to phil collins in a cadbury's advert.

@Lordmitz: nothing like a 6 pack after a hard day of vengeance gathering.

The Gorilla with a Human Brain was not the only experiment of its kind:

@ Aurora: mmm...brains...reminds me of a scene from one of the Indiana Jones films.

    @jackcrowder: excellent color and mood

@awesomecake: that gorilla is damn cool.

@rickiepOOh: great angle. I didn't even see the urine stain the first time around. nice touch.

@lordmitz: a gorilla wearing a truckers cap and lounging in his underwear? must...repress...childhood memories.

@Ken Miller: that is deliciously moody and frightening.

@SJordan - thanks... I almost didn't include it, and then I was like "What the hell." And then I was forced to break my Frank Miller by not using straight yellow for the vomit, because the vomit and the urine would be the the same color, and that's just a little too gross. We have to have standards here.

@Oxbrow - Yours looks like he's planning on suing the mad scientist out of existence. Or pleading his case, Jimmy Stewart-style. Either way it's comic gold.

ok- i had's real real rough, but just think of the lack of cares and freedom from responsibility. I believe our pal would give in to his animal nature... enjoy!

Instead of "Monkey With a Human Brain", or whatever it was called, I started wondering what had happened to all of those discarded ape brains... So here is my team of "people" with the ape brains, and I guess they're looking to get their bodies back, or something...
It's a ballpoint pen drawing scanned in and colored... nothing too fancy.

It seems that in 1941 they knew what a hangover was ... Oh, this is hard and why the merde did I challenge myself to participate in the next Remake/remodel threat whatever the subject !?!? Ok, let's take it easy for a first time ...

    ok, just a quick one

    here goes

    Gorilla with a human brain

Larcenet was a good inspiration on this one, actually...

Oh, another frenchy on WhiteChapel. It feels more like Tardi than Larcenet, but you seem to have a good taste in comics.

@ Kieran: maybe for the art, but I meant the original idea: he did a cover for Fluide Glacial than led me to this...

I had an hour to kill this afternoon so... The drawing went a bit ropey, apologies for that, but fuck it.

Did you come up with that text? If so, thanks for making milk move through my nostrils, you bastard! : )

@ Audley Strange: very very funny...
@ Sizer: When is your piece coming, BTW? I always look forward to it
  7.  (6456.19)
@ Paul. Yeah I'm afraid I'm to blame for both the text and the almost mastubatory overuse of gaussian blur.

    @ Brian. Thanks

@ Brian le Golem : Nicely weird to read "Fluide Glacial" in Whitechapel !
