I'm guessing nerd prom nixxed the usual start of the thread on Monday so here's a start.
New week's releases are up at http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/ - just choose a genre from left and click "magic mix" to stream excerpts from the new releases.
So what are you listening to? Me, I've been trying to cram as much classical stuff from the Proms Festival into one ear and the noise.sludge.doom.caterwaul from Supersonic into the other. Listen again for the former via the BBC Proms site and for the latter via Rhubarb Radio. I can recommend Saint-Saens Symphony no 3 from one and Nissenenmondai live from the Saturday in the other. They're also on Piccadilly.

Clint Mansell did that awesome track from the Wrestler soundtrack, too. I'll be checking out those other scores now.
Me, I've been listening to a bunch of dream-pop-electronica, Isan and Boards of Canada and so on. Also reacquainting myself with Martyn Bennett, a musician you definitely should check out. He mixes techno and Scottish folk in just the most sublime way. Poor lad died of cancer a few years back, and I really feel he was cut off in his prime. His three albums I've heard really show a progression, and I feel his next would have been on another level. He was getting too sick to work by the time Grit came out, though, and it's his last. Well worth your time.
Right now, I'm listening to George Thorogood and the Destroyers.

@dorkmuffin how was HARVEY MILK? i roadie friend of mine (who sees a SHITload of bands) said they were one of the most intense live bands of the past few years...
@joe.distort, they were wonderful. I was not as familiar with their discography as with Torche's, but I found myself liking their set just as much. The lead singer is also an adorably soft spoken old dude. I would strongly encourage seeing them. It was, in fact, fucking intense. Lots of delicious doomy sounds and weird rhythms.
Grinderman - Grinderman Pig Destroyer - Prowler in the Yard Goatwhore - Carving Out the Eyes of God Baroness - Red Album Motorhead - Ace of Spades Black Cobra - Feather and Stone
Needed energy that only grimy summer metal could provide.
Also: Hooray for Torche. I haven't gotten to see them live yet, though.
