@snarky - Whoops, Shark comment was meant for you. Obviously I was blinded by its sheer grandeur and picked the first name I saw after vision returned to blame for it.
@Greasemonkey - That said, I dig your negative/glowy/scratchy looking houses. Is that digital or tangible?
@krista - That's a good topic to bang on about. The figure herself was just off the top of my head sans reference but I've been known to render Zo and also @Trotsky who are both probably partly to blame for the hairstyle and glasses infecting my sketchy subconscious. I'm doing these in Painter X.

@Ix - the designs are Seb Fowler's, only the colours are mine. It's a scan of one of Seb's tangible drawings with colours added via Corel Painter 4.

I like drawing Oda. She has excellent facial features for sketching.

First piece that I'm close to satisfied with for my GenCon portfolio, aside from the usual whatnots in there:

    zombie whale

It's based on this piece that Keighter wanted of herself riding a zombie whale that has pretty much started eating my brain/life. It's all I draw now, constantly reworking.
Yes, those are meteor whale fetuses.

I need the graphic water bits to read better (I can tell it's rather weak right now) and I'm working out the highlights for the whale body right now.
I use a combination of hand inked lines, vector coloring and I started throwing textures underneath some areas that's a bit hard to see since I exported too small at the moment. You can see it a bit in the exposed fin flesh and the rotting organ above its intestines.

...the thought just occurred to me that I should probably cross off any christian-based gaming companies from my list of companies to hit up.

Yeah, probably, but Christian RPGs, as a rule, suck major arse...

Quite often, that is the case. Then again, we don't see many of them there. Religious-themed, yes. Actually pushing a religious message, not so much.

glukkake: Diggin' that mage-ridden-orca, or whatever. You seem to have found a lot of faults with your own work, but it just looks pretty freaking awesome, to me.

lx: Cool moodiness in the piece, like if Ben Templesmith channelled the Slave Labor Graphics "look"... Sort of looks like a "Fell" cover.

Ix: sorry, mistaken back there - I thought you were referring to Seb's cartoon which I coloured. The negative-looking cityscape was created with Corel Painter Essentials 4, using the watered ink setting and a rough paper texture overlay. A friend of mine is writing a fantasy novel and wants some illustrations which look as though they're created by a technomagical process which approximates - but does not imitate - regular photography.

@Seb - thanks. I always go for the bold rather than the subtle. I'll colour another one this week when I get the time.

I've actually never played a religious RPG, save for the one time when we were all squabbling clerics.
I do, however, remember seeing a booth for one company last year and it popping up as I hunted through the exhibitors' list. While I don't suspect them of pushing something sinister, I moreso don't think they'd find my particular sense of humor appealing.

    @frequentcontributor thanks!

If I couldn't find faults with my work, then I don't think I'd ever improve. I get worried if I think something is still perfection the next morning.

As the Remake/Remodel thread has been put on hold till September I thought I'd take a look at the illos I produced for it over the last few months. I have to say that I became a bit addicted to the weekly madness and produced a whole bunch of stuff for it.
So here's some (but not all) of the strange/stupid/fun concepts I cooked up...

And here are some more (but not all) of the concepts inspired by Warren's great Remake/Remodel thread:

Loved that Q the Automaton. It's like a Dalek who had to rebuild his shell with parts of tactical military use/bomb squad robots. Though the 4 part Bollywood high shock schlock "trilogy" still wins hands down.

Okay, I've had my first day off work in a long time and I've spent it drawing...

"There Are Still Precious Few Women On Ganymede"

"Girl In Foxhole With Machine Pistol Hooray"

    Then two smaller designs:

    "Europan Deep Scout"

And finally "Recon Scout, Looks Kind Of Like A Cock"
