    You're one of roughly three people who has given approval for my cigarette choice. Oh, the scorn... oh, the hell I catch every time I light a Djarum. It used to mark me as hipster scum, but now I think it just makes me a square.

    Also...
    Kitty!
    I have no idea what that cat was so transfixed by.

    @ Jeff Zero hey, it's hip to be square. Trust me brother, I was there myself. It's more about liking what you like. And... well, the shame is pretty nice too.

    although, whenever I lit one, Coop would start reciting song lyrics, which included the epic lines
    "Clove cigarettes make me sick
    they smell worse than shit from a mule."
    ah, friends!

    also... is that a real cat?

    @JeffZero

    You realise, and I'm saying this as a pack-a-day man myself, that you could pave roads with clove cigs? That they have, on average, twice to four times the tar content of regular "full strength" cigs? Plus, it's like smoking a sugared cinnamon stick...

    It is indeed. That one is sort of my cat, but I have a habit of taking my photo with just about anybody's cat that I encounter.

    @Henchbot
    You're looking awfully supervillain there, sir.

    @Laz
    You know, my regular smoker friends all tell me that they can't handle cloves because they're too harsh for them, but the opposite is true for me. If I'm going to smoke legitimate cigarettes, I have to go light. Maybe it's the whole cinnamon stick angle.

    Aw, Kafka on the shore has been the most mesmerizing to me. And also South of the Border, West of the Sun and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles.
    Mind you: It reads better in English than in French, there's more density.
    I also like Murakami the painter, very much.
