Not very Metal cause I've been listening to a lot of Johnny Cash and Tom Petty the last few days. It's kindofa weird change of pace for me.
But been listening to the new Immolation, Borknagar, Eluveitie, Finntroll, Dark Tranquillity, High on Fire and Orphaned Land discs the last month or so. I think though I'm only sold on the first two so far though. They're all still growing on me.
new record from LANDMINE MARATHON is streaming now...probably the only 'real metal' i listen to, but its mainly because i see them all the time and know some of em. HERE
"Filmmaker David Hall and grinders FUCK THE FACTS have announced that their new feature film, "Disgorge, Mexico: The Movie", is now available through Handshake Inc. as a pay-what-you-can digital download. Fans can choose to pay nothing, $2, $4, or $6 for a digital download of the film. Described by Hall as "a substance abuse art house riff on the destructive and volatile nature of love," "Disgorge, Mexico: The Movie" is a violent, hallucinatory depiction of one woman's strange journey, set to the soundtrack of FUCK THE FACTS' "Disgorge Mexico". Costumes for the film were created by Nekro, known for her costume design work for ARCH ENEMY's Angela Gossow."
@internaut I used to live in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. You in "Tampon"? I just finally got around to checking out the last Psyopus (I know it was out a year ago):
NPR re-aired the Fresh Air interview with some of the guys from Acrassicauda the other day. After seeing Heavy Metal in Baghdad, I can't help but root for these guys and hope these guys are able to keep making music.
apparently German metallers Heaven Shall Burn did a "Defend Sparta" Show where they all dressed like spartans from 300 and sampled the movie throughout the show.
I know the sound quality is kinda low, but wow, I bet this was a fun show.
Pete Steele of Type O Negative died yesterday. While I can't say I'm surprised (they're guessing right now it was probably heart failure), I'm quite sad. Type O was hugely influential not only to my own music, but to a lot of my friends' as well.
