I wasn't entirely sure if this was better suited to the Twitter id thread, but as it isn't my account and represents an effort to make historical sources accessible and appealing to the general public, I thought I might give it its own thread:

Anyway, the Massachusetts Historical Society is tweeting daily updates from the diary of John Quincy Adams (also available in full online at their main site). Just curious if anyone plans on following the JQA feed and/or likes the idea.

I'll be following. I'm a huge history buff and a native Bostonian. The Adams family left their mark all over Massachusetts, and throughout America's early history. The company I work for has a series of buildings named after: John Adams, John Quincy Adams, and Abigail Adams.
This also ties into my Russian Heritage and fascination/interest in Russia.
The entire purpose of the twitter account is to recount JQA's voyage/experience as minister plenipotentiary to Russia.

To make a long answer short: Yes I will be following, and yes I am interested.
It seems like it will be a tweet-a-day type of thing, so I doubt it will be to time consuming to keep track of.

As soon as I saw the news of it, I've been following. I'm really rather impressed in how concise and yet still informative his journal entries are. Kind of shaming when I use two or three tweets for something and a man two hundred years ago has already mastered the format.

Now that I know about it, I am following.

It's kind of sad and interesting how much I find out about by just looking through this board.

    P.S. nice avatar
