I love flannel, and wear it, too. It was the combination of the look that did it for me. Flannel, beanie, a very specific style of glasses, and a tall can of PBR (though not many beards, actually). It was like if grunge became hipster. I'm not trying to shit on the people, it just wasn't quite the look I was expecting when I went since all my personal friends that are Boris fans tend to sport the more traditional metal look.
Actually I don't tend to associate beards with any type of music style, come to think of it.
saw Russian Circles last night at the Troubadour. they were as great as I was hoping they would be live.
Marriages opened up for them and I thought they were great too. I never heard of them before, so I looked them up and I guess it's two members of Red Sparowes. apparently it was one of their first live shows last night.
guess im going to eat fancy hot dogs and see Zola Jesus tomorrow? last time i missed her play at a small art gallery my friend runs, this time its at a spot thats like 4x the size. figure i should catch her now before she comes back to some big venue i cant stand!
got to see Tim Hecker preform all of Ravedeath, 1972 on Sunday night. It was really cool feeling the reverb through my entire body.
It the second half of a classical performance, with as you would expect, elderly abound. It was entertaining watching them scurry away from Tim Hecker's cacaphony.
