It's Friday, it's FREAKANGELS. For those of you just now joining us, here's your catch-up recap: Kait's fucking mental.

Morning, Whitechapel. I feel like a blunt instrument has been punched at speed into my head. How's all of you?

Pretty good thanks, Ariana. Had a few days away on the Welsh coast, stayed in a lighthouse that has its own Dalek. Hope your head improves.

Mental Kait may be, but she certainly knows how to handle a tonfa! (It's one of the delights of Paul's art for me that he draws physical violence so well, and so accurately.)

Wonderful. Kait's not mental. That cunt had a knife. He deserved everything he got.

I hope you feel better, Ariana.

It's Friday! It's Freakangels! Yay! Y'know what I feel like? I feel like that Leo Sayer. Thank God I don't look like him.

Not bad thanks Ariana. Looking forwards to a good sleep in on the morrow followed by a day of mild debauchery on the sabbath.

As for the episode, nice. Freak Flashback on page 1 (I can't decide if that's KK or Miki in the bell). I didn't notice (as I'm sure was intended) the knife on page four panel two until it went flying in panel three. Page six, panel two - was our murder victim a cannibal? And "some bloke" outside town?... I've been reluctant to jump on the "Mark around every corner" bandwagon but I can't stop a little voice in the back of my head...

Which is probably exactly what Warren wants :)

I'm sharing the Friday morning brewing of caffeine ritual. Too much beer last night, work has been one computer snafu after the other but my new one finally has no issues aside from a dead chicken and obscure alsa incantations.

All my head needs now is a cup of water & then plenty of caffeine before the dread of "Do I still have a LAN at work?" must be faced. The blunt instrument might feel better then figuring who to maim first. You have to love clueless remote admins that can barely type in their login without handholding. I still wish I could hire your shade or a couple of Warren's eels to avoid dipping into my "This is a warning voice. You are 5 seconds from pain. 4...3...2...1..." mode.

Kait may be mental, but you have to love the girl. She doesn't exactly play fuck around, and ohh what's that? More calmly asked questions (next week) before a blow to the temple? YAY!!!!

Once again, I have reasons to go into work on Friday with a smile. A maniacal smile that scares little children, but a smile none the less

    Morning folks...
had a shit pile of a few bad days.
My good old tom cat Goblin got hit by a car two days ago. I almost caught him before he darted into the street, but my stupid fingers couldn't grab him. We rushed him to the vet immediately and from there had conflicting reports on how he was doing. At one point we though that he just broke his tail and leg, then he had spinal injuries, then he was showing improvment, then he had no on the third day we had to go say goodbye to him and they put him down. I don't think I've cried harder than during the last few days, even when my buddy will got shot. At least will didn't suffer.
The asshole who hit him was flying at at least fourty mph down a one lane residential road. He stopped and asked if Gob was okay, but when I asked him to drive my hubs to the vet with Gob he just made an excuse. I didn't let him finish I just ran to get the car keys...asshole. He drove off and didn't come back.
I can't wait to move out of this fucking town.

Someone's been munching the Longpig? Cool... Chikkinz and Cannibalz.

Moved house on Monday, still more tired than I ever thought possible, every muscle aches but luckily have next week off to get over it. And unpack. And get used to having a house and garden you can get lost in, which is something I never allowed myself to believe would really happen. So all in all, very, very happy.

Morning. Well that ep went with a bang, didn't it? Yet another week where we are left waiting to understand whether or not the killing is connected with either Luke or Mark, or some other maniac. Sad about Les Paul, but Leverage 205 was the best of the season and I got Windows 7 up and running two nights ago, so on balance the week has been good, albeit wet.

Aww, Pooka, that's horrible. Stupid bastard. I'm paranoid about hitting cats when driving in the morning, they just move so fast, but there's no excuse for driving like a prick - and what a dumb question, of course a cat you've run down isn't fucking OK. Hope the fucker gets reincarnated as a tapeworm.
  4.  (6588.13)
Pooka- That's horrible news. My cat was put down a few hours ago; except he had been ill for a few weeks and it was the right thing to do.

This week's been okay. Nothing too terrible despite the Cat being bloody ill. I'm off to Scotland next week. So this time next week I'll be in the car on the way to Edinburgh. But really I need a coffee before I can parse this week.

Hmmm, a dystopian future where people eat people? Guess it makes logical sense and I'm sure Mr. Ellis will handle this well (and there'll be more to it than that), but I am really tired of this sort of development. That's probably my fault for the things I read, of course.

Liked the black and white sections here and am interested to how that future glimpse will play in, if relevant. Art as gorgeous as ever.

@Pooka really sorry to hear that. I've lost two cats to cars, one to a friend that couldn't avoid him, which made it more tragic. Still miss the tyke.

So..they were wandering out of town, talking to some bloke...and they started acting odd, to boot?

That sounds a little like someone we've all heard talk about, doesn't it?
    • CommentTimeAug 14th 2009
Oh fucksticks. (That's for suspense ratcheting up.)

I don't think Kait's mental. I think she likes people to think she is, though.

And I could hear every panel this week, just on the art alone. Fantastic crunching noises. A symphony of painful noises.

I just wind up liking Kait more and more. Don't know if that makes me sick and twisted. In this crowd, probably not.

The hubby and I celebrated our thirteenth anniversary this week. Went to "District 9" last night and it was good stuff. Much better than the crap Hollywood churns out. Having a bad movie night on Saturday. Life is good.

Ah, Pooka, that's terrible news about your cat. And what a shitheel driver, to be such a bastard.

Heh, I was chatting to my girlfriend about this episode, and she said 'I love Freak Angles, but I'm not used to reading installments... Man, the Victorians had it hard'. Why was that the closest analogy she could make? Who knows, but man, I love her.

This week's installment was, as always, excellent. Kait is fast becomming my favourite Freakangel.

I hope yer day improves. Shame for a Friday to be crappy *all* day. It's a good week for me. I got my indefinite residence from the Dutch government. Now I only have to give them a new photo every five years instead of turning up as a supplicant, my €200 in my sweaty hands.

If even a relatively loose cannon like Kait is hiding being a Freakangel, I can see her playng the tough cop. When she reads someone's minds, they'll just assume some other desperate character dimed them after a session of wall-to-wall therapy. Is one of the suspects dressed like a peasant?

@Pooka: sorry to hear about your cat. I've been lucky enough that my last two cats lived to a ripe old (if undetermined) age. Doesn't make it any easier.

this week's fine. ups and downs, strikes and gutters. "sometimes you eat the bar", and all that....

"some bloke outside of town" eh? could it be? will Tino actually show up to band practice?

@AndyMcGregor the B&W were flashbacks, not future
