    so... it's a love story after all? lol.

    which I guess is kind of fitting, as the undertone of the story is all about smashed romanticism.

    saturday. I get paid on Friday but that's also when I GET DRUNK. So, Saturday brunchish, I'll get this and ICity #4 and maybe another copy of FWomb (gave mine to my sister and she LOVED it, as I knew she would.) and I'll eat food LIKE A HUMAN, IN A RESTAURANT and read my comics and FUCK ANYBODY WHO DOESN'T LIKE THAT. (Sorry. Shouty, Stabby, Abusing Parentheses, Hungry. Angry. Horny. You know the drill. Once more, with FEELING. Rinse and Fucking Repeat.)

    ... if I don't have money, I'll steal it and feast on pigeons in the goddamn park. I'm SERIOUS.

    I liked it. It was good... I'm trying to remember if the 'regular' doktor and the 'radio' doktor were shown as two separate entities before... i really wish this book was coming out more frequently... I figure that once this arc is done I'll have to go back and read it all again... I'm sure that I'm missing stuff due to the long gaps of time between issues. It's interesting to see the different people working together.

    Anyone else assuming that the free clinic was shut down by the doktor, himself?

    Mind blurbs, right now (which I don't expect an answer to any questions, but maybe someone else will see something I don't):

    No surprise shrieky girls are the Doktor's eyes and ears, though I'm curious if it just applies to them only or anyone who is using clatter? So the other guy in the cell has spent this entire time writing the sequel to The Darkening Sky, but no mention of a title. DS2 - They are out to get us. I'm disappointed in the Nurse, thinking they might make it out alive after the dust settles. Either she doesn't really take the Doktor seriously that he's going to end it all, or she refuses to see this. The CDC labeling St. Teresa's Eyes as the "Angel Plague" makes it sound like its a terrible thing to have, which it might not be. I'm mentally ticking those off that are powerful enough to shut the the CDC down. As for the nurse, green means GO. And hot spy/death talk gets her off. And the Doktor evidently, for the frist time. Which has me thinking that he couldn't because he was the tulpa and not independent enough to do it on his own until his creator (the one in the cell) was dead. Screw who got the book first conundrum - if each is the other it doesn't matter who read it first. People have come from all over the city to go to that clinic, now with the Doktor's tags. Easier to get the city in one swoop, instead of leaving it to the gangs. And now that the radio station (or was it TV?) is out, the good Doktor is the only voice in the midst of the chaos. Nice. Best of all, the first west side casuality has been identified by detective singer. He's not a Head Hunter, so what's his position in the group?

    Outta time, hopefully when I read this in eight hours it makes sense to even me.

    Things are going blow like Vesuvius.

    I just finished my first read through and its good to see the Doktor back on the printed page after watching the world shake under his boots the past few issues.

    after re-reading the whole run just before this issue came out, despite all the new developments in #13 one thing really stood out to me:

    nurse:everything except us
    doktor: i never said that

    very curious to see if they will stay in sync, especially after their sweaty coupling...and what the head hunters will do now that there's spillage into the east (love the head hunters btw-they seem to be the physical embodiment of the hip-hop ethos 'take what exists and make it yours')

    Brilliant, brilliant shit (as per usual). My absolute only complaint is that the book hasn't been coming out every month, but I suppose there's even something to be said for waiting patiently when it pays off.

    Ok, so now my questions:
    1) John Reinhardt in the prison cell is dead. But do we know for sure whether or not he was the tulpa or the original?
    2) If I'm not mistaken, it has now been revealed that the Doktor Sleepless on the radio is a seperate being than the Doktor Sleepless who was getting busy with Nurse Igor. First - am I right on that? And if so, which one is the tulpa? Could they both be? Could one of them be the tulpa's tulpa? Am I thinking too much?

    In any case, job well done. By far, my favorite piece of fiction currently being produced.

    @ drinkwater I think the tulpa can become more real then the creator over time as per that story the jailed Reinhardt told a while back.

    Does anyone have a head count on the Reinhardt's as of now? 2 dead 1 that went to the amazon and a passable 2nd doktor if radio dok was a new one we've just meet. Personally I think only one of the Reinhardt's became Doktor Sleepless but until I get more info 3-4 sounds about right.

    I didn't see it as two Doktors in the latter part of the issue, it felt to me more like one of those disjointed time montages you get in manga and anime. You're not seeing the events in order. Maybe my visual vocabulary is just tainted and I'm reading it wrong...

    No, actually I only count the one doktor. In this issue he talk sabout the guy hung in the cell; something like "how nice of him to do that for me". The Amazon thing was a flashback; there is only one of The Good Doktor.

    Nice to see him again. He's been MIA for the past... well, I guess only 3 issues, but that's like 23% of the run so far, so... it counts. I have no idea where this is going, so I look forward to figuring it out. The first nine issues are brilliant; I just can't figure this next arc out. Looking forward to it though.

    @Cyman:
    There's certainly hints of there being more than one Doktor (as well as one Reinhardt, as it were). The appearance/disappearance of the huge Grinder tattoo on his back, for a start...

    I also thought it was the same Doktor with the nurse and on the mic. What I find interesting is that with this issue, the Doktor has become the villain of the pice for me. Before, I had thought I could see his point – and maybe in later issues, I will be able to see it –, but right now, he seems like a revolutionary in a world I am not so convinced deserves a bloody revlution. I mean, it's not as clear cut as with Moore's Britain in "V for Vendetta", for example. Or even Transmet's politics.

    It's a heady stew and I'm enjoying it: but it's difficult to tell which way is up or which way down. I find it intriguing that the Doktor doesn't really know what is in the sequel to the Darkening Sky.

    When will the caped hero step in to save Heavenside?!

    Finally caught up on this series. Good stuff.

    @ Cat - Not sure what you're talking about. I just carefully looked over the 13th issue (the only one with the Dok in it so far this arc) and we never see the part of his back that had the Grinder tattoo on it. If there are other issues that show the tattoo disappearing and reappearing please let us know. That would be interesting.

    I'm curious to see what Sing Watson has to say. She might have some new dirt on Dok.

    @warrenellis

    I'm adding new stuff to the wiki in a few days. Everything in backmatter usually ends up on the wiki, but I wanted to know if it was ok to post the entire script from this issues' backmatter on the wiki.
