Just got done with a week and a half tour interpreting for a band from Lyon, FR called Overmars. They were pretty interesting. They just released an album called "Born Again" which is a 40 minute doom/sludge epic, however on the tour they played mostly newer stuff which was a little more in the Euro-emoviolence vein a la Aussitot Mort and Amanda Woodward.
They played with a band in Brooklyn called Mortals who were a pretty excellent, mathy 3 piece.
Other than that: VA - Indestructible Beat of Soweto BIBIO - Ambivalence Avenue and whatever black metal so happened to be playing in the van.
Also, got an advance copy of The Atlas Moth's new record "A Glorified Piece of Blue Sky" and it sounds fucking amazing.
Went and saw The American Dollar, Arms and Sleepers, and Caspian Friday night in NY. I was blown away. All three bands were amazing. They impressed me to no end. I've listened to nothing but Caspian's new album Tertia and Rosetta's Wake/Lift for the last two weeks.
