"Because being Pretty has FUCK ALL to do with being The Good Guy..."

Holy FUCK this is a fantastic thread. Kudos to all, you keep hitting it out of the park on every page.

Didn't know quite where to take it, and had settled on a mime-looking dude, but then was flipping through the first issue of Starr the Slayer from this week, and Richard Corbin had drawn this Neil Gaiman doppleganger, and I thought, "Yes, the Flamingo would look like Neil Gaiman." So there you go...

Rooth, that piece is beautiful madness, as well as lots of other great ones from previous pages that I've forgotten the names of...

@Rooth: and I thought The Shadow had a sinister beak on 'im. Very cool.

The Flamingo, however did he tame such a wild and terrible beast?

Drawn in MS Paint, mostly for expediency, though I recommend it to anyone with an eye infection like I had, as it promotes therapeutic seeping.

Dedicated in loving memory to Rod Hull.

    There we go!

Sebfowler: Ha! The payoff of that drawing is that, having to scroll down to see the entire thing, you don't get to the Flamingo feet until the end, so it's a really great visual gag... Too funny.

    Remake/Remodel is back! WOOOHOO!
Lovely stuff this week, seems like everyone's back from their breaks :)

The first thing I thought of was the flamingoes (and the hedgehogs!) from Alice in Wonderland - you know, the ones that they play cricket with!
So here we go: The Flamingo, secret agent of the Crown! With his gusto and his fists he deals with the villians of the thirties!

His companions are Casimir, the fearful hedgehog, and L.I.D.L. - an amazing size-changing automaton powered by mystical mushrooms found only in the Hollow Earth.

Of course, he needs a fitting villian... and who better then the Queen of Hearts! (S)he runs a global organized crime syndicate

Clone Artist: Digging the 'toon style. Nice Alice Liddell reference...

Really nice, Rooth. Someone else said sinister, and that's a great word to describe it.

    Cheers, @racingpenquins, @frequentcontributor, @viol8tor, @Art G, @Laemeur, and amazing work everyone!
    What an awesome R/R, folks.
My Flamingo is actually the first illustration that I have ever done entirely digitally from scratch, and I very surprised that something half decent came out of it.
I didn't really have an idea or direction to go on for this one, (and there had been so MANY awesome ones early on in the thread) so I decided to give myself an hour to sketch around with Manga Studio until something took shape. I still don't know the program very well, but the digital drawing and inking feels so natural in Manga Studio, very free-ing, so I just went with the flow and then added a dose of colour in Photoshop.
So many great entries right from the get-go though, too many to name- but you know you are....
If I had to choose a favourite this round, it would be Michael Furious I think - sorta reminded me of character that might show up in The Invisibles. I wanna draw that guy!
Sizer wins for best Flamingo-holster :)
    See y'all next round...
