It's Friday, it's FREAKANGELS: in which, no, there's really not a drain in that little hole in the ground.

It's foggy enough here this morning it may as well be pouring down rain -- eeeeeverything's damp, even inside. That last may be because I left all the windows open. Again, I find myself contemplating the possibility of hot, mulled Red Bull. Probably not, though. How's everyone else?

Well a friend is doing promo photos for the new issue of 'A Christmas Carol' today, there was the most massive full rainbow yesterday on the way home and there's currently not enough time in the world. Other than that, the world is good. And Freakangels this week has that simmering feeling that says something'll go BANG next week or the week after. Lovely.

If Luke is so sure that one of them can change the weather, why is he up to his waist in water and blaming Kirk? Seems like he is cursing the dark rather than lighting a candle.

September brought wind, cold and rain to London, which I am cursing rather than finding my coat.

And with this week's ep, there are now over 400 pages of FreakAngels online.

I am up way to early this morning. Coffee.

I so am enjoying the Angels right now. Rain is good.

Still summer in Canada. I get paid today.

Luke's right. Interesting he and Mark and Arkady used to kick around together.

    Bumsticks!

    :o)

    Congratulations on the 400 pages!

I loved the rainstorm and actually wished that I could be there in it. Not sure why. I think that spending 2 weeks in Southern Spain with no air conditioning did that to me.

Yes, why doesn't Luke change the weather rather than just complain about it, if he's so powerful?
I think that Kait has also played around with her package to see what else she can do, as shown by the last couple of pages. I wonder what kind of security system she has - a mental link to a video camera? Some kind of trap set up?

6 years ago they brought the flooding upon London and we still don't know how except that it was a mistake. Maybe they were experimenting or were high or drunk. Hmmm. I want to know more!

Isn't that why he says he's so scared of Arcady though? Because she's the only one of them that's actually stretched her powers to find out what she can do? Remember when the others were so shocked that she could teleport?

My understanding was that Luke is saying it's possible, but that all of them - except Arcady (and Mark, we assume) - are wasting their powers by not trying things out

Luke is trying to goad Kirk into trying to empty out the water. He knows he can do it himself, he just wants to see if Kirk is willing to let him drown or not.

Great episode. Here, spring has sprung, but the rain isn't coming. Apparently the return of El Nino has something to do with it.

Warren, are you a fan of Jeff Noon and have you read his Falling Out of Cars? I don't know why this week's episode made me think of that, apart from the common factor of a post-apocalyptic England.

You know, I was about to say that this volume has been a bit more art than words, and then Luke opens his fucking gob.

    Every. Damn. Time.

Lovely art, as per usual, and I think Luke's just needling Kirk. If he's such hot shit, why won't he just bust on out? I think it's because Luke rather relishes being a prick. He's not just a prick, he enjoys being a prick. And here I used to think he was just misunderstood.

Awaiting the shitstorm, and hoping Luke gets what's coming. But, being an Ellis story, who knows what "what's coming" is?

Oh, and I'm having leftover Papa John's Cinnapie and Mountain Dew for breakfast. This is to cope with the general shitty feeling of being turned down for a job in the middle of the beginning of a house hunt (that makes sense, I swear) and trying to deal with a less-than-ideal financial situation. At least I've got some good, free comics to read, and my wife's been getting a ton of free shit from work. So, bad with the good, and all that.

@lead_pipe - I love Jeff Noon's books, but it's nearly impossible to find them in the US, except for Vurt. I just got finished with Needle in the Groove and was wondering which one to go with next. I can only find it on Abe Books and even with the shipping it's still cheaper to buy from a UK dealer.

Damn it Mr Ellis, you're killing me one week at a time and I love it. I just got the chills while Luke was talking about

Arkady. I can't wait for what happens next.

and a wonderful 400 pages they have been.

The rain is just lovely and just when I start thinking about the story again and how the pacing is a character, I get distracted by angles and rain and glowy eyes.

And then Luke tries to get his own back with words. I know guys who use their voices like magic.

It is fall here. It is not supposed to be. We ate warm food last night. And will continue to do so.

    Hope all are well.

    Thanks, all!

Sheee--it, I've got a whole new month stretching out ahead of me, the possibility of some work that I might like to do and maybe getting even paid, and to top it off: fresh comics on Friday. Life ain't too bad at all.

Good on the Whitechapel crew for continuing to keep this place running and running well.

You know, I just realized that this is the first in this comic, which is set in London, that's it's actually rained. Apparently the Freakangels must've seriously messed up the weather for London to get that sort of reprieve from the wet...
