Bumsticks is my new word of the week. <3 Kait.

I wonder if Luke is too tied up in feeling superior to Kirk to use his power to escape? Or maybe he just enjoys the feeling of perforated legs..

Story's building up quite nicely:)

I'm looking forward to a three day weekend. It's Labor Day this monday. I don't know how it is on everyone elses neck of the wood.

But we Yanks, celebrate work by not working.

Actually, now that I think of it, we celebrate most holidays by not working.
2. (6728.23)
I think it was indicated (or presumed on here) that Luke could bust himself out, or hurt Kirk, or any number of things, except that he's busy stopping bloodloss and trying to mend himself. I doubt he could alter the weather AND continue to stanch the flow of blood.

I particularly liked the feel of this installment, especially the dialogue-free lead-in. Loved the mood.

@ Paul - Your artwork continues to develope in wonderful ways. I was reading through from the beginning, again, and enjoyed watching you find the characters and explore the settings, creating a rich world for us. It's interesting to compare the beginning versions of the characters with how they look now, they've become much more solid, more real. I thoroughly enjoyed the lovely art you gave us today, thank you.

--On a side note, is it just my computer, or is the bottom of page 2 not filled in (colors glitching out to solid grey)?
3. (6728.24)
@Indigo Rose
:) Thanks for the compliments! I certainly feel like my work has changed a lot since beginning too. I've been trying to make my style more solid, so I'm glad it seems to have worked.
I think the page 2 thing is most likely a glitch on your end. There is a lot of grey in the palette, but it's all coloured exactly how I wanted it to be.
4. (6728.25)
You're most welcome.

Yeah, must be my computer. The bottom is a block of grey at the moment, no image at all. I'll have to be patient and try again.

Hmmm... My take on Luke goading Kirk to change the weather is that once Kirk gets provoked enough he'll attempt to change the weather..which means he's going to take his mind off Luke and Luke will have a better chance to escape.

I think Kirk might actually get provoked into that, he seems like the stony face type with lots of emotions broiling inside. ^_^

Or maybe I'm off on a wrong track here?

(Well, at least I get provoked just reading Luke's words.=P)

No one's been in or out of there for hours..... except maybe a FreakAngel who has been screening himself for all this time? We're never going to actually see Mark, are we?

Also, if they can change the weather, then Luke can unchain himself, probably... but I think he's concentrating on those bullet wounds right now. Keeping them from hurting.

I didn't know he and Mark used to hang out with Arkady. I actually thought it was him, Mark, and KK (and I still think KK slept with Luke) and I figured that if there would be another one to change their ways about, it would be KK next.

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
Luke hinting that someone could change the weather seems to me like a pretty blatant gloat that someone is changing the weather. Especially due to the fact that he's mentioning Mark too. If the big M doesn't get introduced by the end of volume 3 (definitely in the last 6 pages) in some kind of wonderful cliffhanger, I'll be really surprised.

Freakangels Friday was pretty great for me, not only did I get the number of the cutest girl in a coffee shop (and free coffee), I also found a 50 year old antique copy of 'The Complete Stories and Poems of Edgar Alan Poe' in a second hand book shop. Black nail polish and gothic velvet blazers really work wonders on the fairer and oh so pliable sex. Totally makes up for my French girlfriend dumping my arse for being a chaud lapin.

Hope everyone is well, especially tireless Ariana, without whom there would be no Freaks :P

She dumped you because you're a hot rabbit? If that's slang, I have *no* clue what it means, and if it's not slang, well then, I'm even more confused.

Edit: *searchsearchsearch .... googlegoogle...* Ohhhhhh, ok.

I was hoping there would be more hints (oooo, let us focus on Arkady) and that action would be delayed a little bit more, I get what I wanted. Bumsticks, har har!
Yes Paul'art is thriving, that's another reason to buy the BP's because even sweeter than the scent of freshly printed ink, there's the evolution of lines and of the coloring. It's great to have the opportunity to watch how work can improve always more with intense and regular work.

Bonjour Ariana, don't drink too much Red Bull il really smells like sweaty feet.
The week has been busy and I'm not even a chaud lapin (I'm glad English speaking people know that expression, thus it won't get obsolete so soon)

I agree with the others who say that Luke is too busy dealing with the bullets to fuss with the weather. Though it did seem to be quite coincidental when the rain started. Part of me does agree with Luke - they should be trying to figure out what they can do, but part of me is wary, because that could go horribly wrong.

My week is fine. I work now and it wears me out thoroughly. I really want a computer because I'm getting too tired to go to the library after work. Some of the people at work are fun though. Aside from wanting a computer, I'd also like a social life. Stat. At least I did some shopping today. And apparently people in the 70s had impossibly small ribcages, because mine is small and I could not fit into those dresses.

Also, if some cute boys could show up and be very flirty, that would also be very cool.

*le sigh*

Also, Dee_Noir, sweet! May I have your luck.

You just know Luke's going to get out of this somehow. Crafty swine that he is, he gives me the chills.

I still love this comic.

Very nice rendition of rain - you don;t see that done so well in comics (although the clothes would be plastered, no?)
And that final panel .... fuuuuuuuuckkkk. Thats the equivalent of the end of chapter that makes you want to immediately go on to thje next one.
Just picked up son 'n heir from friends where he'd cut his gorgeous locks and emerged with the most outrageous mohawk. I mean, its almost a foot high!

Hi, Ariana. Hope you are well and do not run out of red bull.
Very awesome episode this week. The rain effects are gorgeous.

How's everyone else?
Damn, it has been pretty much 100 degrees every-fucking-day this week. I can handle it but I'm sick of being soggy every day. Hmmph

It's an established fact that the Freakangels can scan for bio-signs/surface thoughts [ episode 36, page 3, out of Kait's own mouth ] but I'm tempted to say that what she's doing here is more like psychometry. Makes sense that Kait would be good at object reading like that. Also seems like an ability that would be generally similar to scanning for bio-signs and so on.

I'm still a little dumbfounded that Luke would let himself get shot: even if he was pretending to be unconscious it seems hard to believe he wouldn't see it coming. But that's my problem.
I do agree with the idea that he's possibly trying to get Kirk to drop his guard, but I get the idea he's leagues ahead of him already. I certainly don't believe those shackles mean anything, even with a bullet in each of his legs.

I can't shake the idea that Luke's in league with Mark. He certainly hasn't been given any reason not to be, that's damn sure.

I'm still wondering what exactly he did back when that turned him into such an outsider in the group...learning more about the time Arkady, Mark and he spent together in the past will be revealing, no doubt. I suspect we know who Arkady got the dope from, now.

Wasn't Mark shot and drowned too? But he's apparently not dead? Or was he just drowned? I can't remember.

Liking Luke more and more and i hated him from the start. Always knew he was Mark's buddy, but Arkady, too?!

Makes sense.

Jack & Sirkka are brother& sister & gross too much INTO each other.

Caz and KK are too into talking about things and "wouldn't it be great?"

Miki's overwhelmed. Kait's the only thing that keeps her sane and that's frightening.

Kirk. Karl. Quick question - which one wears the foil hat? (And THEY killed Mark? Don't make me laugh. They can destroy the world, they can fake their own death?)

That's EIGHT. Luke, Mark (as yet unseen) AND ARKADY. (UnOficially, the favorite FreakAngel of everyone.)

*counting on appendages* (... Nine, Ten, Eleven ... )

Connor. The Scribe. Key to the story.

First one to meet Alice. Connections to all but to no one specifically. The one we know the least about (except the above AND - he used to be fat. A geek. A weakling.

(Know what geeks do, Luke? They PRACTICE SOMETHING. They're alone a lot so they stretch the package, as it were.)

Connor's important.

I'm so mean. I'm actually not all that impressed with this episode or the episodes behind this. It was good arc with Kait searching for a murder, but then it makes me wonder about a couple of things.
Like what are the other Freakangels talking or discussing about? What is going on other then what we know of Kait, Luke, and Kirk?

Though I also wonder who this murder is, and I wonder what Luke is planning himself, I find him a lot smarter then what we assume.
