So, it being my birthday back in October, I have an unusual tradition of buying others gifts. Meanwhile, the best friend/lover/hero in my life traveled out from Chicago to visit me for several days.

But what do you get a best friend/lover/hero as a MyBirthday Gift?

Being she is a fan of Green Lantern (and Hal Jordan in particular), I pulled a few strings with a friend of mine, and he got me in touch with someone at his place of employment...

And I ended up having a Tiffany & Co. jeweler make a Green Lantern power ring out of sterling silver for her.

This was a fabricated ring as opposed to one cast from a mold.

Here's the back of the ring, complete with maker mark.

And here is Jasmyn DuBois, newest Green Lantern of Sector 2814.

    Evil Beware...

Now I just need a Sinestro ring or I'll never be able to keep up with her... :)

Yeah, the silversmith who did it loved working on it. Beat making teapots for old rich housewives, and he wants to do the Sinestro ring.

There's a homeless guy who hangs around the big Christmas tree outside Leeds Trainstation who claims to be a shaman, and I reckon he could imbibe the ring with magical properties if you bought him a can of special brew. Unless he's lying, but I don't see why he'd do that.

But yeah, that's quite sweet of you.

GREAT! I also have a Green Lantern power ring. I use it mostly to smack small animals with willpower-formed billy clubs.
