   David Lynch Hip-Hop, Surreal rap? Emo-hop?....

   Just did a video re-edit, video remix of sorts
   of footage of a great track by the hip hop artist Lil B ,
   a member of bay area(san fransisco) rap group
   THE PACK who had a hit with the
   track Vans.
   
   This is very different though, It maybe Emo-Hip hop,
   surreal rap, I dunno,.It's definately not the guns
   and glamour bling hip-hop out there.
   
   a new direction of somekind,
   Lil B calls it "BASED".
   
   Tell me what you think,PASS ON THE VIDEO,
   i think it'll turn a few heads.Someone is trying

   Very stylized ambient with sporadic poetic musings. I was admittedly skeptical but I have to commend him, he's doing his thing.

   Good critique!
   
   I personally love this track he did
   "street dreams"....
   
   
   
   The music is on the more soulful Common/kanye end,
   but the lyrics are still in his patented
   BASED style.
   
   His website/blog(?)-www.basedworld.com
   just goes beyond music and is somekind of
   X-files Hip Hop repository.
   
   
   At the Basedworld site, at the moment they are talking
   about the 52 hand blocking system developed by African American prisoners.
   
   
   
   
   I think alot of people are following him
   online for his esoteric intreasts
   not just his music

   Arklight... honestly thought that was one of the worst rap tracks I've heard in a long time. "I'm so wet a pussy get jealous." Really? This is supposed to be a step up from regular misogynistic rap nonsense?
   
   If I want rap with an interesting message, I'll stick with K'naan.

   K'naan is kool. He's been knocking around for a while.
   It really depends what you want.
   
   If you want grown up Hip Hop, that's mature and
   probably wears a cardigan in the evening, you're going
   to be listening to Common or Mos Def
   . Maybe the Roots.
   
   Lil B is mad young.I like him because I know Lil
   Wayne is a big influence , but what he does with
   that influence is intreasting. ...

   I feel it's the start of something, the younger
   hip hop generation breaking out somehow with
   there own style.Away from the 40 year old rappers.
   Even if we don't like it.
   
   He's not doing the street stuff or
   the "concious artist stuff".It's something else.
