    @kelcey

    I know just what you mean. The minute it drops below 65 outside, the mp3 player gets filled with sad acoustic music.

    David Sylvian - Manafon

    Getting more and more inaccessible in his later years. Think minimalist Scott Walker, with heavy improv leanings.

    Yeah, Black Cobra has that stoner/doom tendency to pick a huge riff and play the hell out of it for a while, except they do it at a much higher tempo. I dig that, but I can see where one might be bored by it, especially if you're used to more frenetic stuff like grind/powerviolence. Their new album doesn't change that principle, so you might still find it dull. I really like the constant, driving feel of it, though. My gf says they're what it would sound like if Ministry was a sludge metal band.

    They're great live, too. The interplay between the two of them is just right to make it sound huge.

    I've been on an younger-me trip hop stint lately, going back to Hooverphonic, Portishead, and Emiliana Torrini. Remember them?

    I listened to almost every Elliott Smith record today whilst driving through lakes country in Northern Minnesota on my way to a job site. Self Titled and Figure 8 while the sun was rising. XO and Either/Or as it was setting.

    Seeing KMFDM tonight, so I'm listening to the mix I put together of all the good stuff off of the last 3 albums. And by all of the good stuff, I mostly mean the songs without Lucia on them. She's got a goth cheerleader thing going that I'm not that fond of.
