It's Friday, and it's the penultimate episode of FREAKANGELS Volume Three. This episode's a bit of a calm wrap-up, obviously...

Ahem. Good morning, Whitechapel. I've got half-assed allergies leaving me a wee bit blurry in ONE eye this morning. Fortunately, the internet is a relatively flat land...! Yuss. How are we all? I won't be able to tell how far away any of you are without full depth perception, but that's all right, check in anyway.

It's cold and going to rain and I have to ride my bike to work today. I am also attacked by tiny creatures and DO NOT LIKE IT. The barometric pressure's really fucking with me.

Six more pages? Then a skip week or two (natch!) and then we're into Volume Four! With no end in sight. This thing could run forever.

Surely making this episode an almost directly literal cliffhanger is just taking the piss?

I'm good thanks Ariana, surprisingly so considering I've not had a cigarette since Sunday. Kinda twitchy, but ok. Not that I've actually quit, I'm just taking a break. I can have a lovely kiss from lady nicotine any time I want. I just won't right this minute. Provided I keep telling myself that, I should be ok...

But hey, I am mercifully allergy free, so I will quit my whining.

oh my gosh, that looked like a really bad fall for KK!

I wonder if she has broken her right leg from the impact. She's bleeding some in the last few pages - ouch...

Given that she's hanging on the roof with her bare hands though, I have to agree with Luke that the Freakangels don't explore their power enough. Come on, if she took some time to learn to levitate or teleport like Arkady, things would've been so much better! Now its 2 down, more to go! Luke still running free!

I want to know what happens to Kait though! ARGH!

shame about KK's bikecopter, its going to take more then turtlewax to get that out and i'm sure there ain't many spare bike and helicopter parts floating about.

    Art=ace great job all round

I'm alright. My fever seems to be leaving me alone finally. It hit at about the same time that my computer decided to get corrupted, so I stayed up until 5 in the morning fixing it while my body registered extreme cold that wasn't actually there. Fun.
Then it switched between cold and warm, cold and warm, and then I was just warm and sweaty. Today I seem more or less normal though. Tired and unwilling to get things done, but I don't really have a choice.

@Curb: It's clearly a tribute to the movie Cliffhanger.

    poor kk...

    good morning folks...
i've had a shitty week. Tensions in the house, and my father found out his extremely painful nerve disorder is spreading into his face. goddamn.
I did however see hospital robots. UK hospital in Lexington KY has little secured and refridgerated cabinets on wheels that trundle themselves back and forth through the hospital, delivering biological samples to different departments...because the hospital is fucking huge and it would be a big waste of man power. They have call buttons on them in case they get stuck somewhere.
I really...really....really want to take some autobot and decepticon stickers to them... not allergy free...I've been hacking and snotty and sick to my belly for days now, which really doesn't help my mood.

The Ridick-ulouse Mr. Piggy Iggy Iggy (as we call my fat little black pug dog) is snoring loudly at my feet.

Six more pages to go - should be enough to tidy up all the loose plot threads...

KK should have had massive injuries from that fall - I'm glad that she's not been killed outright. I suppose that Luke gets to sneak off into the storm now.

I always thought this volume would end with the caption "Mark - Tyrant King" (or whatever his job is) to mirror the first couple of chapters.

Hope your gammy eye settles soon, Ariana

As mentioned above, EXCELLENT art this week.

And that last panel, yeah, I laughed a little. Even staring down death, KK's not going to back down.

Loving the rainy artwork and wondering if Mark is responsible for this oh-so-swift storm appearance. Weather decoy by brain power. A solo version of something that the entire group of them once managed, perhaps?

But mostly, I am now abysmally wishing the week away to see if Kait survives, after the comment last episode that suggested a cruel fate - followed by no appearance at all this episode! Gahh! This is meanery as an art form, this comic!!

Temporary solution will involve public house and ale; my local rather nicely has a "worker hour", 4-6, with cut-price draught perhaps my thanks, rather than curses, are in order...

Greetings from Nottingham. Looks like the weather here is going the same way as the past few instalments of FA, which only enhances my reading pleasure. Things are good here, off to see my girlfriend's parents tonight and then off to see Zero 7 in Sheffield tomorrow. Hellz yes.

    Good morning Whitechapel,
I am pretty happy sitting here drinking my cup of coffee in the dark. One of the blessing I enjoy is NOT having allergies. I do feel for those of you as i have witnessed what several friends go through.
I saw on the international news that rain was in London and the first thing which sprang into my mind was Paul and his wonderful visions of the world after (_______) {only Warren's mind knows}. I look forward to Vol. 4 becoming a part of my library very soon.

Which begs the question: Did they do what they did by accident or is Mark further along the lines of exploring his powers ala Arkady?

This has been the week from the borderlands of hell. Preparing at work for a seminar that's leave the place half staffed, and I get to play trainer + watch our sales staff turn into stress-induced puddles of goo. Next week is more of the same + a multi-hour car trip because the majority of those leaving are afraid of airplanes.

It'll probably end up like this. Instead of warm & sunny with last few pages of v3 over breakfast before expensive seminar, I'll get cold & rainy with bad hotel wifi - only to find out later that day when I finally do have the time to connect that everyone got bitten by the seasonal bugs & is having a worse day then me because we got a unintended skip week. I already had a mild encounter and it seems a lot less pleasant then previous years.

I hate hotels. I hate work trips. I hate panicky co-workers that can barely stand to be away from their SO for more then 8 hours, let alone 3 days. The bright spot is Friday night should give me plenty of ammunition for ribbings later on.

    Stay healthy everyone. Really.

It's Friday morning, I have no commitments this weekend, unlike the ridiculous amount last weekend, It's payday, and it's Freakangels day!

however there are a couple of not do so good things

unlike Ariana, my allergies are full-assed and it looks like I've been rubbing sand in my eyes for fun again
I have a meeting at 8Am to go over documents and price sheets - it's only about the 6th circle of hell, the full 9th circle comes when legal docs are discussed

alright, enough dillydallying - back to work for me

Hmmm I guess we can't see how high up she actually is (7 3/4 meters at least, based on what we can see) ... certainly would hurt to land from that distance for me, but is it possible she's using her freak powers to heal some brutal injury she got from the impact? Wonder whether Arkady can do a mid-air teleport... can't wait to find out :)

I have to give props to the art team - the chopper's impact, kk's impact + her inertia had to be brutal to draw, not to mention all that rain, but you folks truly pulled it off wonderfully.

Thank you for continuing to amaze me... I've never seen anything like this book - the combination of quality and consistency just amaze me. And thank you Avatar - I don't know your exact role in all of this goodness, but I certainly love the hardcovers and your affinity for titles that are anything but the bromidic writing so many other publishers are saturated with.

Fantastic artwork in this week's episode - I'm kind of surprised the skybike didn't just punch through the tiled roof though. Those buildings are abandoned and have been for some time, so the roofing timbers wouldn't offer much resistance. Nice cliff - er, gutterhanger for the finish though!

I have a stinking cold thanks to my eldest daughter, who caught it from her boyfriend. Guess that's what she gets for shagging in a park, but I'd rather not have been the recipient....

Damn Warren, keep writing stuff that lets Paul show off his amazing ability to render action in perspective. Right now I’m guessing that Paul was the guy in art school who made all the ceramics and design students hide their sketchbooks in shame.

i am wondering whether trauma might be the key to unlocking the extras in the freakangel packet? they took mark and tried to kill him and now they're wondering if they can; arkady seems to be the most powerful thus far and she OD'd; Luke gets shot in the legs and suddenly a massive storm kicks in and he cuts loose. what will Kirk be capable of if he survives? Might it be necessary for KK to fall off that roof in order to truly become what she has the potential to be?

Hello from Central Florida, or as it is known to British tourists, Mecca(Mouse). Our weather much milder than Whitechapel's, but nowhere near as well-drawn.

Oh my... the proceedings are quite dire for KK, granted, but man, what a visual feast! I could stare at page two (which, BTW, gives new meaning to the term "splash panel") all morning, and when I finally attained satori, there would still be more to see. Regarding the entire rooftop sequence, it appears such a naturalistic motion study that I had the alarming notion that Paul might've recorded an actual test crash with a stuntwoman and a gyrocopter, to serve as a guide. Naaah. [raises eyebrow quizzically]

Whatever the case, it is my conclusion that Freakangels is the first HD graphic saga.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a splash panel to stare at.

Poor kids ... but does the laws re bodies in motion allow KK to do that?

I want something nasty to happen to Luke.
