Given that she's hanging on the roof with her bare hands though, I have to agree with Luke that the Freakangels don't explore their power enough. i've had a shitty week. Tensions in the house, and my father found out his extremely painful nerve disorder is spreading into his face. goddamn.
I did however see hospital robots. UK hospital in Lexington KY has little secured and refridgerated cabinets on wheels that trundle themselves back and forth through the hospital, delivering biological samples to different departments...because the hospital is fucking huge and it would be a big waste of man power. They have call buttons on them in case they get stuck somewhere.
I really...really....really want to take some autobot and decepticon stickers to them...

I...am not allergy free...I've been hacking and snotty and sick to my belly for days now, which really doesn't help my mood.

This has been the week from the borderlands of hell. Preparing at work for a seminar that's leave the place half staffed, and I get to play trainer + watch our sales staff turn into stress-induced puddles of goo. Next week is more of the same + a multi-hour car trip because the majority of those leaving are afraid of airplanes.

It'll probably end up like this. Instead of warm & sunny with last few pages of v3 over breakfast before expensive seminar, I'll get cold & rainy with bad hotel wifi - only to find out later that day when I finally do have the time to connect that everyone got bitten by the seasonal bugs & is having a worse day then me because we got a unintended skip week. I already had a mild encounter and it seems a lot less pleasant then previous years.

I hate hotels. I hate work trips. I hate panicky co-workers that can barely stand to be away from their SO for more then 8 hours, let alone 3 days. The bright spot is Friday night should give me plenty of ammunition for ribbings later on.

I have to give props to the art team - the chopper's impact, kk's impact + her inertia had to be brutal to draw, not to mention all that rain, but you folks truly pulled it off wonderfully.

Thank you for continuing to amaze me... I've never seen anything like this book - the combination of quality and consistency just amaze me. And thank you Avatar - I don't know your exact role in all of this goodness, but I certainly love the hardcovers and your affinity for titles that are anything but the bromidic writing so many other publishers are saturated with.

Regarding the entire rooftop sequence, it appears such a naturalistic motion study that I had the alarming notion that Paul might've recorded an actual test crash with a stuntwoman and a gyrocopter, to serve as a guide. Naaah. [raises eyebrow quizzically]

Whatever the case, it is my conclusion that Freakangels is the first HD graphic saga.

@docquan - Sure, Arkady might be able to, but there are two problems: First, she's busy saving the other FreakAngels, 'cause she's the only one who knows how to teleport. Second, I feel like Luke merely underestimated Arkady before. If Luke really has explored their powers, he might be able to take Arkady. Last time she messed with him, he wasn't expecting it at all, he had shrugged her off like everyone else. This time, he knows she'll try it, and knows she is powerful, so he will be prepared.

@ Warren and Paul - Thank you for another lovely episode. It doesn't seem like much happened, but that's part of why I like FreakAngels. Since you give us an issue each week, we don't have long to wait, more detail is great, I love your pacing. The action is worth the length of the episode, Warren got Paul into drawing something extraordinary. It is awesome to see what Paul's art has turned into. I mean the first pages of the first episodes were already great, but my, now, look what we've got.

These people need to stop being for the most part afraid of their powers. Other then Akardy they seem to stick to what comes ease and or what they can do without giving away that they are different. Time I think to work the power like they work their other skills. I for one think Mark has been doing that since he left.

I wonder how much of it has been the external pressure from the world to hide their abilities that makes the average Freakangel very modest and focused in their abilities and how it plays on their attitude towards it. Most of them probably spent a great deal of their lives trying to 'fit in' and were still thinking like that while Luke, Mark and Arkady sat down to figure out what they could really do. Breaking out of that mindset must be pretty tough even after The End Times since most of their efforts have gone into rebuilding.

@Tpete: Welcome to your first week of nail biting! I wish you many more and please accept my sympathies in advance for whenever the next skip week occurs.

As for my own trials, I have a single painting in a group show and the opening reception is tonight. Only the second gallery show I've been in and my first in the Americas. Didn't Luke swear revenge on Arkady after she stopped him from zombifying his ex? After she gave him the overdose treatment?

Seems like he could pretty easily know where she's gonna turn up, and can answer the question of what happens when a bald freak angel tries to teleport into airspace that's currently occupied by something else. It'd sure be one evil cliffhanger if one panel shows Arkady teleporting and the next shows the airspace around KK filled with parts from the chopper... hopefully Luke turns out to be only MOSTLY evil.
