I wanted to tell you guys about my new webcomic "The Continentals". It's for the folks who like a little murder, mystery, and adventure with their steam punky webcomics. LOL! Here's the plot:
1889. Barely a year after the mysterious Jack the Rippers murderous rampage and equally mysterious disappearance the city of Mansfordshire, England is shaken by a series of brutal "mangling" murders that plunge the city into an abyss of fear.
Investigating the case, Continental Operatives Jeffrey Tiffen Smythe and his partner the gender bending adventuress lady Fiona Fiziwigg uncover the threads that bind the murderer, his victims, the highest echelons of society, it's lowest dregs, and even the police officers investigating the case in a tangled web of mystery, adventure, intrigue, and murder that is like Sherlock Holmes, mixed with equal parts of the 60's tv show "The Avengers", with a dash of James Bond for flavor.
Type the link in. Highlight the link text. Click the "img" button. Label the image or leave it blank (you'll understand what I'm talking about when you get to it).
Do the same with the following links, with the proper spacing of your determination. Click the "Preview Post" button below.
Thanks for the help, ut I'm as technophobe as you can get, so you might as well be speaking french. LOL! I'll just leave the un-links the way they are and hope folks are interested enough to type in the urls.
That said, thanks again for the comment. I'm the writer/creator of "The Continentals", the artwork is by my partner Monique MacNaughton. I think she really nailed the victorian era atmosphere, don't you?
The artwork's not bad, but not too many people are going to take the time to copy and paste a link in their address bar. It's real easy to add links and images to posts, there're buttons at the top of the post box for just those purposes and are easy to use. If you're going to promote your web comic on forums, you really need to learn how to use them.
Yes, I know that british cities don't end with the word "shire" at the end of their names. That is, I know it NOW. I didn't 2 years ago when I was first writing The Continentals. A few of my british friends pointed it out to me after I began showing them finished pages and stuff, pointing out that the city would be "Mansford" and the countryside around it would be "Mansfordshire", but by then t was too late to change it.
As the writer, after almost 2 months of the story being drven more or less in pictures, I'm glad we're finally starting to get to see some of the writing that went into The Continentals.
I remember years ago an artist friend of mine named Jim Daly who'd done work for Marvel, DC, Image, etc, said to me, "No matter what you writers think, comics are an artists medium. Always has been, always will be". I was thinking about that just recently. I wonder what Warren would say to that?
When we first started The Continentals back in january with "Making The Continentals" the character of the cross dressing adventuress Fiona Fiziwigg was the character that folks seemed most interested in. Now that she's FINALLY in the comic I'm excited to see the reader response to her as a part of the actual story and not just a character creation that thye can project their own notions onto.
There have been several new pages of The Continentals posted since my last visit and I told you guys about our publishing deal with Transfuzion Publishing. I hope you'll all come by and check them out. :)
