    Any more rhetorical comics in the offing? I thought CRECY and FRANKENSTEIN'S WOMB were among the best things you've ever done. If it were up to me, comics-format lectures would be the new mainstream.

    I have three in mind. BLACK HAND, PERCUSSION and GREEN MONKEY. Whether I'll get the time to do them anytime soon is something else entirely.

    I haven't seen any of these motion comics. I suspect I would not like them, because my suspicion is that they're not comics, but limited-animation pieces, but I should check one out soon.

    Are there any particular genres you'd like to explore that you haven't yet? Perhaps short works, like TOKYO STORM WARNING as an exploration of Japanese Giant Robots?

    Since we're on the subject of Japan, do Japanese interpretations of superhero concepts (Super Sentai, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, and so on) interest you at all, even if only as a contrast/compare to western superheroes?

    And on a completely seperate subject: Are there any actors (stage, film, tv, voice, whatever) whose work you particularly enjoy?

    Silly question. I've always been interested in artists who are able to cross genres/mediums/etc. I think a decent example is Nick Cave, except he admitedly can't act very well. With you having work in comics, novels, television and movie scripting have you ever considered or attempted song lyrics? I know you loathe the sound of your voice, but can you boast harboring any inner musical talent? Can you draw a decent picture?

    Motion comics are indeed not actual comics... They're done by taking comics and, well, narrating them, adding in bits of animation and suchlike here and there. They're sort of a midpoint between the comic and an actual cartoon adaptation.

    Invincible is being turned into a motion comic, and Watchmen was made into one, too. The Watchmen motion comic did make one horrendous decision by making ONE guy voice the entire cast. Including the women. The Watchmen one kinda turned me off to the whole motion comic idea, but I'm interested in hearing if a comic creator sees any use in them :)

    Here's a Spider Woman motion comic for future reference. I found it to be surprisingly good, at least compared to the bits I've seen from the Watchmen one. I like the look of it a lot even. Not that I'd start watching them or anything, but they'd probably be a good way of getting people interested in new titles if used as marketing.

    I'd also like to ask you what your motivations for doing these threads are? And say: Thank you, Warren.

    Given how much you love music: how much of an audiophile are you? Do you have certain requirements of your players/systems, quality-wise? Or is simply being able to listen to what you want, when you want it more of a priority?

    And thanks for the Apparat format. It's brilliant in content and format.

    I thought the Darkstar track was an absolute revelation at the time, because I hadn't heard anything by Darkstar that particularly stuck with me before.... but I love Kode9's work the best, I think.

    I personally enjoy it, but I don't think it compares well. You have to come at it from the perspective that Fuck Buttons are, and always were, a pop band, and that second album is always difficult for a pop band -- not least because they want to be seen as more than a pop band and so strive to do more complex or challenging material. Which means, usually, longer tracks.

    Imagine, if you like, a synthpop band who wanted to be "serious" and so took their cues from Vangelis. Or mid-period Kraftwerk. Now filter that through Fuck Buttons. That's what TAROT SPORT is, to me.

    A few years ago, I would have said no. These days, with a bit more perspective: yeah, I could.

    I've always loved the Bay Area. There are remote parts of Oregon that look really interesting. Vancouver. Parts of Oslo.
